Important Importables: Marvelous Entertainment
Every once in a while, it’s nice to look back at a developer or publisher to learn more about them and acknowledge the good they’ve done in bringing people worthwhile games to play. A major player in Japan is Marvelous Entertainment. Surprisingly, people may not realize that Marvelous may have even had a hand in more »
Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns 3DS gets a lucky 11/1/11 launch date
It’s time for Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns! You’ll be forgiven if you suddenly develop a case of deja vu and think you’ve heard that before. Odds are, you have. That’s because last month, Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns was released on the DS. Now it’s the 3DS’ turn.
The story and premise for both versions is identical…
Rune Factory: Oceans turns to Tides of Destiny
Rune Factory: Oceans is getting a North American release! Only, it won’t be Rune Factory: Oceans here. Natsume’s localizing the PS3 and Wii game as Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny, which sounds much more appealing and mysterious, if you ask me. Plus, it’s going to make its English language debut next month at E3 2011…
Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns will be a DS and 3DS game
Harvest Moon games are addicting. You play one, odds are you’ll play another, even though the gameplay doesn’t vary much among entries. So many people will be pleased to know Natsume has picked up Marvelous Entertainment’s Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns for a North American release. I guess we’ll need to get our DS and 3DSes ready for some farming goodness…
Japan Import: Vanillaware’s next game is Grand Knights History
It’s been a few years since we’ve heard anything from Vanillaware. Since the 2009 Wii release Muramasa: The Demon Blade, if you want to be exact. Normally, almost two years of silence is a bad thing, but there’s no need to worry. Vanillaware is back again, and teaming up with Marvelous Entertainment to bring Grand Knights History to the PSP.
Vanillaware is known for RPGs, and that’s exactly what Grand Knights History is…
Japan Import: Night of the Sacrifice Wii will use the Balance Board
Marvelous Entertainment is working on a new Wii game for next year that should be an exciting adventure for older gamers. Night of the Sacrifice (Ikenie no Yoru) is a horror adventure about, what else, college students who stumble about a suitably scary location and incur wrath of the ghosts and evil that happens to live there. Yup, sounds about right…
Jump Festa 2011: Publishers start announcing game lineups
Shueisha’s 2011 Jump Festa is being held December 18-19, 2010 and video game companies are already RSVPing and even announcing some of the games they’ll be bringing to the manga, anime and video game convention that primarily celebrates series that appear in Weekly Shonen Jump. So anyone fortunate enough to make it to Chiba, Japan and the Makuhari Messe Convention Center will not only get to buy lots of goodies and see lots of stage shows and exclusive exhibits, they’ll also get to see some anticipated video games…
Rune Factory Oceans goes multiplatform
For the first time in the series, an entry in the Rune Factory series will appear on two platforms at the same time. Marvelous Entertainment is working on a new console version of the game called Rune Factory Oceans, and it will be appearing on both the Wii and PS3. This will also make Rune Factory Oceans the first Rune Factory game to appear on a Sony console or handheld. Good for them…
Harvest Rune Factory 3 on November 9
It’s time for more dungeon crawling, farming and socializing goodness! Natsume’s been hard at work on preparing Rune Factory 3 for North American DS owners, and it’ll all pay off on November 9, 2010. That’s when people will be able to find it in stores for $29.99…
Half Minute Hero’s sequel called Yuusha 30 Second, includes quest creator
The PSP game Half Minute Hero, aka Yuusha 30, did well enough to merit a sequel. That isn’t too surprising, as it did offer a lot of variety and unique gameplay experience. The question is, will North America get to see it. Since Yuusha 30 Second has only just been announced for Japan and won’t be out there until November 4, 2010, I think we’ll have to wait a while to see if XSEED will step up and deliver…
