An open letter to companies benefiting from Japan’s suffering

Dear company heads,

Over the past few days, we’ve seen a lot of organizations doing things to help with the relief efforts in Japan. Most of these companies are donating the money they earn from their products to the proper venues. This is to be admired because their products would have been purchased anyway. They say they want to help, and they do so with no strings attached. That’s why I’m so disappointed when other companies hold their donations for ransom.

Gamertell Review: Reload

There are no people or animals in this game, just tons of tons of targets. Moving targets, quick targets, still targets and targets that shoot back at you. It’s all out target shooting warfare.

Gamertell Review: Remington Super Slam Hunting North America

You’re having a nice evening in the forest with your friends while sitting around a camp fire, when suddenly a huge black bear comes barreling at you full speed, along with some bison and deer. Good thing you brought your rifle!

OK, so that’s not the setting for this game but it is the idea. You must hunt down and shoot varmint all over North America before you become its dinner.

Review: Remington Super Slam Hunting Africa for Wii

Strap on all the ammo you can muster and head on down to Africa for quiet little jungle safari. Oh, and kill everything in sight while you’re at it. That’s basically the idea in Mastiff’s Remington Super Slam Hunting: Africa. As the name suggests, it takes place all over Africa. You have to hunt down over 15 big game animals in over 25 locations.

DS’ Moon launch delayed

Disappointing news for fans of the DS owners who happen to be fans of first-person shooters (FPS) – Moon hasn’t been cleared for launch. Originally, Mastiff and Renegade Kid’s new and slightly dark FPS shooter set on the moon was supposed to be shipped to stores November 18, 2008. Apparently, some unknown forces have forced the companies to revise their plans. So now, expect to see the game on January 13, 2009.

Moon is set in 2058 on the moon. While some astronauts are preparing a new lunar station called Alpha Base, a “hatch” is discovered. The player must explore the hatch and discover what is lurking within. Could it be, aliens? We’ll know January 13…

Download Gurumin at the Playstation Store

A first has just happened at the Playstation Store – a third party PSP game is available for purchase. Gurumin: A Monsterous Adventure, from Mastiff and Nihon Falcom, is now available for $14.99. It’s a 716mb download, so make sure your memory card has enough space.

Gurumin stars Parin, a young girl who is sent to live with her grandpa in a deserted mountain town. She’s the only kid there, so initially she’s a bit lonely. Then she meets two friendly monsters, and is invited to the Monster Village adjacent to the town. She makes friends and everything’s cool, until some bad spirits known as the Phantoms abduct all the friendly monsters. Parin steps up, grabs the Legendary Drill, and goes to save her monster friends.
