LittleBigPlanet 2 drops to $39.99
So you’ve been playing around with the idea of purchasing LittleBigPlanet 2, but didn’t want to pay full price? That’s understandable, especially since we’re about to enter the part of the year that is heavy with popular releases. But maybe LBP 2‘s new price drop will be enough to entice you.
A look at the musical stylings of LittleBigPlanet 2′s Toy Story DLC
LittleBigPlanet 2 received some pretty cool DLC this week. The Toy Story DLC contains everything from costumes to themed levels. Along with those themed levels are a few new music tracks that were designed just for this game. The three tracks were composed by Winifred Phillips who is also known for her musical work on God of War, Spore Hero and SimAnimals. Phillips was kind enough to provide Gamertell with all three of the new music tracks for LBP2’s Toy Story DLC, and we’d like to share our thoughts about them.
E3 2011: LittleBigPlanet Vita has a lot in common with LittleBigPlanet 2
LittleBigPlanet has appeared on every possible Sony platform since it’s been released, so everyone knew it was coming to the PlayStation Vita. I doubt anyone was shocked when Sackboy showed p on the handheld at the Sony E3 2011 press conference. The Vita version will be tailor-made for the portable, with touch screen controls and all kinds of new levels and creation tools.
In a way, LittleBigPlanet for the Vita may give LittleBigPlanet 2 owners deja vu…
Media Molecule auctioning LittleBigPlanet artwork, goodies for Japan charity
Looks like Sackboy is also lending a burlap-covered helping hand to the people of Japan, as developer Media Molecule has announced that they’re conducting five auctions. Four of them involve original works of art, while the fifth is an in-game item coveted by many LittleBigPlanet fans.
Back to the Future as seen in LittleBigPlanet 2
I always knew LittleBigPlanet was capable of producing some amazing levels, but I have not heard of, or seen any level better than this one. One incredibly crafty individual by the name of Rigzz has recreated the classic clock tower scene from Back to the Future in LittleBigPlanet 2. It’s not shot for shot, but darn it if it doesn’t fill my heart with glee.
Review: LittleBigPlanet 2 for the PS3
LittleBigPlanet has returned and it’s bigger and better than ever in this fantastic sequel. While the premise of the game hasn’t changed, the clever new editing tools let the imaginations of amateur game designers get even wilder and more creative. Want to create multiple levels and connect them? Include programmable bots you can dress up however you like? Direct a short film? Create a working tic-tac-toe game? LittleBigPlanet 2 has all the tools you need to make all this happen, and then some.
Sackboy can get a free Prius in LittleBigPlanet 2
When you get LittleBigPlanet 2 next week on January 18, 2011, there’ll be some free DLC waiting for you. Granted, it’s free product placement DLC, but still. Free is free! The January 11, 2011 edition of Pulse revealed that Toyota loves the Sackboy so much that it’s giving him a car. If you want to see the news in the Pulse episode yourself, then head to the PlayStation Blog, let the video load and then skip ahead to the 1:55 minute point…
LittleBigPlanet could be getting a spinoff
You can create any scenario you want in LittleBigPlanet. Media Molecule is making it possible for us to take our imaginations to even greater heights with LittleBigPlanet 2. That’s what makes the franchise so unique. Just about any situation we would want to see Sackboy get into can be created from scratch. But there appears to be at least one idea that warrants a whole new game in order to exist. That plausible game is called Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves.
Flower, as seen in LittleBigPlanet 2
LittleBigPlanet‘s biggest draw was the infinite possibilities brought on by your own imagination. Some people made totally original stages that were just as remarkable as the ones included in the main game. The toolset needed to create amazing levels has been expanded in LittleBigPlanet 2. With those tools you can create your own videogame, or in this case, recreate a PSN favorite.
LittleBigPlanet 2 delay was meant to prevent patches
Media Molecule recently announced the delay of LittleBigPlanet 2. We won’t be able to take Sackboy on new and exciting adventures until January 2011. The reason behind this delay involves patches and PlayStation 3 internet connectivity.
