Review: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

Metal Gear Solid has been a fan favorite for since the early 90’s. Everyone and their grandfather knows who “Snake” is and his trusty partners “Raven” and “Big Boss.” Well now the classic series is out again in a nice little bundle to be played in beautiful HD.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker are all together on the two disk set along with the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid NES games.

Time for a limited edition, Metal Gear Solid and Risk mash-up

Konami, USAopoly and Hasbro are teaming up for a board game collaboration that could have epic consequences. Metal Gear Solid fans without access to their favorite console can, for $49.95, acquire Risk: Metal Gear Solid Limited Edition later this year. You’ll have to act quickly if you want one though, as the “limited” moniker isn’t just for show…

E3 2011: Konami pre-E3 press conference wrapup

Let’s get the big announcement out of the way: Hideo Kojima warned not to expect Metal Gear Solid Rising anytime soon. I know a bunch of you just stopped reading and went off to curse Konami’s name. That doesn’t mean you won’t be getting plenty of chances to hang out with Snake and Otacon though. In November, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will combine MGS 2, 3 and Peacewalker on Xbox 360 and PS3, along with the customary trophy and achievement support. Snake Eater gets a reimagining on the 3DS complete with a feature that lets you use the portable’s camera to create camouflage. That’s slated to release sometime in 2011.

Andriasang translates the listing as saying the company wants “Next Generation Metal Gear Solid Series Production Staff.”

TGS 2010: Play as Snake in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd

Remember how Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker had Felynes and dinosaur-like monsters from Capcom’s Monster Hunter series. Well, it’s happening again, but in reverse. Capcom’s next Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, is going to have Metal Gear Solid Snake and The Boss cameos…

E3 2010: Raiden slices and dices in Metal Gear Solid Rising

Metal Gear has always placed a great emphasis on stealth and secrets and Konami is treating the newest installment with “if we tell you we’ll have to kill you” care. Thus, we aren’t leaving E3 with exactly a full dossier on Metal Gear Solid:Rising. I can tell you that swordplay is going to be a huge game mechanic and featured prominently in the footage that was shown.

Gamertell Review: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

Hideo Kojima’s new installment of the Metal Gear Solid franchise is out. You can insert the triumphant fanfare soon. I will tell you that I wanted to like the game and, well, I didn’t like it.

I loved it.

Gamestop exclusive Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Big Boss Pack

In the most recent edition of the Gamestop e-mail newsletter, Gamestop said it would have its own version of the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP-3000 bundle.

The name of this Gamestop exclusive bundle is the “Sony PSP GameStop Exclusive Big Boss Bundle for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.”

Sure, there is a regular bundle that pretty much everywhere else would end up having but there are a few differences…

Kojima planning to work on platform-free games

During a press conference in Tokyo to promote Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Hideo Kojima made a bold prediction in the nature of game evolution. The prediction is that platforms, more notably traditional ones like consoles, will soon be extinct. Reuters was there for the news that Kojima Productions would be shifting to games that more »
