Gamertell Review: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
Hideo Kojima’s new installment of the Metal Gear Solid franchise is out. You can insert the triumphant fanfare soon. I will tell you that I wanted to like the game and, well, I didn’t like it.
I loved it.
Konami selling its iPhone, iPod Touch games for 99 cents each
Black Friday deals are always exciting to look at and fantasize about. Getting up and bearing the weather and crowds is a whole new can of worms though.
For now lets take the digital approach and grab some iPhone and iPod Touch games from the security of our own dwellings.
Konami is selling has lowered the price on all its games on the iTunes store to only $0.99. This means you can own the entire Konami collection on iTunes for under $10.
E3 2009: Metal Gear Solid Rising also coming to PS3, PC
During Microsoft’s E3 2009 press conference, Hideo Kojima walked on stage to introduce a chapter in the Metal Gear Solid series. This new game called Metal Gear Solid: Rising will star Raiden as the protagonist and apparently won’t have anything to do with Solid Snake.
Today (June 3, 2009), however, Hideo Kojima returned to the stage during Konami’s press conference to announce Metal Gear Solid: Rising would not be exclusive to the Xbox 360. It will instead be launching simultaneously on…
E3 2009: Listing may reveal new Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid
What Kojima’s “Next” website didn’t reveal, may be what a listing at GamesPress has revealed.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (Xbox 360 and PS3) and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP) are currently listed on the games journalist’s resource site with the release date of 2010. Not much to go on admittedly, but when one clicks further, one gets a press release for Lords of Shadow dated back in 2008 from Leipzig and some concept art.
Raiden to star in his own game titled Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the Xbox 360
The Xbox 360 will finally be receiving some man-loving from Raiden (first appeared in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for the PS2 and subsequently in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PS3) who adorns the stage in Metal Gear Solid: Rising.
The announcement of Raiden receiving his own game shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to fans what with the image that Hideo Kojima ended his Game Developer’s Converence 2009 keynote with all the way back in March 2009.
Besides the game’s invasion onto the Xbox 360…
Kojima Productions Countdown reveals Big Boss
Been keeping a close eye on the Kojima Productions “next” website countdown? Well, if not, there has been quite the change since we last posted.
Not only has the Flash video become slightly more filling with dark clouds and heavy rain but we also get a peek at one of the characters from the mysterious (or not-so-mysterious) game: Big Boss.
And the Kojima Productions countdown counts down to… yet another countdown
Now that you are sick of reading the word “countdown,” here’s what the timer on the mysterious Kojima Productions “Next” website ticked down to another timer. This one is set to expire roughly around May 30, 2009. This is why I love Kojima Productions. As soon as Lost ends, they come bring this website on to cater to our need for crazy crackpot theories and over-analyzing.
The Flash video on site has gone from windy and ominous to the freak storm is right on top of us. Complete with lightning bolts, thunder, and rain the rolling clouds from before have turned to dark gray and slow-moving. The flashes of lightning this time bring the phrase “@ E3″ one symbol at a time.
Japanese Rep suggests Konami “looking into” Metal Gear Solid 4 for Xbox 360
As one of the Playstation 3′s defining exclusive titles, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has long been the subject of multiplatform rumors that its creator, Konami’s Hideo Kojima, has consistently sought to deny by pointing to the game’s reliance on the PS3′s hardware and the Blu-ray disc format. And yet, the rumors continue.
Speaking with Japanese stock investment research firm Morningstar, a Konami public relations representative named Yoshitaka Arai has reportedly confirmed that the company is “looking into” an Xbox 360 port of the game due to…
Metal Gear Memorial: Remembering the many years of the Snake
I can’t wait for my copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots but I don’t want to say goodbye to elite agent Solid Snake, whom we’ve grown to love while following his adventures.
We pray that rumors of an end are not true and continue to pose theories about why the series could never end. Even so, as a preemptive memorial to help cope with the denial that this may be the absolute last game for Snake, here is a look at the MGS franchise….
Konami announces Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection for the PS2
Konami has announced the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection for the Playstation 2. While the press release doesn’t mention a shipping date, scanning the collection’s newly-created entries at Amazon and Gamestop reveals an expected March 18, 2008, shipping date. It’s priced at $29.99 and rated M by the ESRB.
The compilation features the original Playstation version of the first Metal Gear Solid and the…
