Rumor: Metal Gear Solid 4 Greatest Hits box shows trophy support

Next time you’re in your favorite game-selling store, amble over to the PS3 games and check out a copy of the Greatest Hits version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Apparently, the boxart has been changed, and most would say for the better. Flip to the back and look at the top, where it lists features the game has. It may just say “trophies” after “multiplayer” and “voice chat.”

Funny, because MGS4 doesn’t have trophies…

Top ten lesser-known romantic couples in video games

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it reminds me of the romantic couples I’ve found in the video games I’ve played over the past years.

This is my top ten picks for the most romantic couples I’ve found while playing these games regardless of the genre or game, even if it was only a fleeting moment in a game’s time line.

I avoided obvious couples like Tidus and Yuna from Final Fantasy X and Squall and Rhinoa from Final Fantasy 8 and, instead, opted for lesser-known couples that seem to pass us by when we play.

If you have a lesser-known couple in your list feel free to list them in the comment box so their names will be known. Happy Valentine’s Day and enjoy the list…

Japanese Rep suggests Konami “looking into” Metal Gear Solid 4 for Xbox 360

As one of the Playstation 3′s defining exclusive titles, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has long been the subject of multiplatform rumors that its creator, Konami’s Hideo Kojima, has consistently sought to deny by pointing to the game’s reliance on the PS3′s hardware and the Blu-ray disc format. And yet, the rumors continue.

Speaking with Japanese stock investment research firm Morningstar, a Konami public relations representative named Yoshitaka Arai has reportedly confirmed that the company is “looking into” an Xbox 360 port of the game due to…

Playstation Store Update for the week of June 12-18, 2008

Sorry this column is later than usual, comrades. I was playing Metal Gear Solid 4. And by saying that, I mean I was dreaming of playing MGS4. And after that, I was in some kind of flying ruin floating in the middle of a psychedelic sky with some hot brunette girl. It was awesome! Then, before I could figure out what was going to happen next, I woke up.

In the wake of such a major bummer, I give you this fine list of this week’s Playstation Store stuff…

Kojima furnishes MGS4 details

Hideo Kojima, the creative genius behind Metal Gear, furnished fresh details at the Leipzig Game Convention 2007 about the upcoming game Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots. He talked at length about the four new boss characters called Beauty and the Beast, and what led to its creation.

The Beauty and the Beast unit will feature four female boss characters, Screaming Mantis, Laughing Octopus, Raging Raven, and Crying Wolf, who are part human and part machine. The four members of the unit, devastated by war, go on a rampage and, as always, only our hero Solid Snake can stop them.

The folks over at Destructoid have allegedly unearthed information about Metal Gear Solid 4: The speculation that MSG4 will be a PS3 exclusive is not true. Destructoid claims it has received confirmation that the game will appear on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. A firm release date has not been mentioned but MGS more »
