Review: Angry Birds for PSP and PS3

Angry Birds‘ popularity has exploded. What started out as a simple, indie iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch app has become an icon. There are Angry Birds accessories, toys and even a board game. It’s not surprising that Rovio and Chillingo would want to make the game available on as many platforms as possible, which has led to the Angry Birds mini – the first console and handheld versions of the game. The PS3 and PSP port may be lacking when compared to the original release, but it’s a nice alternative for people who don’t have a smartphone capable of running the original Angry Birds.

PS3 and PSP owners get mad with Angry Birds this week

Oh you little birds. Just so angry. And so versatile! They really get around and, on January 4, 2011, Angry Birds will be on the PlayStation Store. Prepare yourself for an invasion…

Zenonia becomes a PSN mini this week

Gamevil’s quest to bring Zenonia to everyone continues! The iPhone game recently made its DSiWare debut, and not it’s appearing as a download for two more systems, the PSP and PS3. Yes, it’s going to be a PlayStation Store mini! And if that weren’t enough good news for anyone who missed out on this action-RPG back when it was an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad exclusive, it’ll be part of tomorrow’s PlayStation Store update.

Zenonia follows the adventures of a young man named Regret…

Gameshastra preparing Bee Wars, Crime Spree and Flick Fishing minis

One of India’s biggest video game developers is taking an interest in PlayStation minis. GameShastra has announced that it is going to lead its minis charge with a proven hit, a minis port of Flick Fishing, and then continue the assault with two more games, the original Bee Wars and a port of the iPhone game Crime Spree.

The three minis cover three different genres as well, so Gameshastra is really making sure it has everything covered. Flick Fishing is a sports game, where people can fish alone or wit friends. Crime Spree could be considered a racing or action game, since it tasks players with escaping the police in a car chase. Finally, Bee Wars is a strategy game where players need to get tons of honey…

Gamertell Review: Supermarket Mania for PSP, PS3

G5 Entertainment has taken advantage of the addition of minis to the PlayStation Store to port Supermarket Mania to the PSP and PS3. It’s a time management simulation game along the lines of Cake Mania and Diner Dash, only instead of serving customers pastries or dinner, you’re stocking and managing a series of grocery stores…

Important Importables Mini: Cat Café Kyariko hosts Yume Neko DS

If you’re in Japan between March 26 and May 6, 2008, and you love cats and video games, you may want to stop by the Cat Café Kyariko. Sega has DS units with demos of their latest game Yume Neko DS, roughly translated as Dream Cat DS, exclusively at the restaurant. Yume Neko DS is essentially a cat version of Nintendogs and the Cat Café Kyariko is a small café with 19 cats who live and roam around the area. Customers can come in and interact with the animals while relaxing, enjoying some food and now playing a DS demo. The cafe itself is located in the Kichijoji neighborhood of Musashino, which is a part of Tokyo.

Click through to watch a commercial for the game, which stars the cutest real cats you will ever see.
