A Space Shooter for Two Bucks gets an aptly named iOS port

Frima Studios thinks that the galaxy is too big to be limited to a single format. That’s why it’d be criminal to make A Space Shooter for Two Bucks! only available as a Sony PSP and PS3 minis game. So the developer has done a little tweaking and transforming and, voila! It’s coming to iPhones, iPad and iPod Touch units come July 28, 2011.

The thing is, $2 seems a little much for an iOS game. Especially if you can’t try it out. Yet, A Space Shooter for Two Bucks! name pretty much tells you the price. There was only one solution – to change the name of the game…

Angry Birds‘ popularity has exploded. What started out as a simple, indie iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch app has become an icon. There are Angry Birds accessories, toys and even a board game. It’s not surprising that Rovio and Chillingo would want to make the game available on as many platforms as possible, which has led to the Angry Birds mini – the first console and handheld versions of the game. The PS3 and PSP port may be lacking when compared to the original release, but it’s a nice alternative for people who don’t have a smartphone capable of running the original Angry Birds.

Gameshastra preparing Bee Wars, Crime Spree and Flick Fishing minis

One of India’s biggest video game developers is taking an interest in PlayStation minis. GameShastra has announced that it is going to lead its minis charge with a proven hit, a minis port of Flick Fishing, and then continue the assault with two more games, the original Bee Wars and a port of the iPhone game Crime Spree.

The three minis cover three different genres as well, so Gameshastra is really making sure it has everything covered. Flick Fishing is a sports game, where people can fish alone or wit friends. Crime Spree could be considered a racing or action game, since it tasks players with escaping the police in a car chase. Finally, Bee Wars is a strategy game where players need to get tons of honey…
