The PS3 version of ModNation Racers was called exactly that, ModNation Racers. The PSP version also went by the exact same moniker. Sony and SCEA San Diego Studios don’t want that for the PS Vita version. No, it’s time for some variety. And to help kick things off and perhaps find a name, they’re looking to the fans.

It must be price cut day over at Sony’s headquarters, because now a few beloved PS3 games are a lot cheaper. You guessed it, there are five new additions to the Greatest Hits line of games! Suddenly $30 goes a lot further in the video game world.

All five are popular PS3 games, so there’s a good chance some of you spent a lot more money on them in the past few weeks…

Today is a pretty good day for PS3 owners. It’s day 10 of Amazon’s 17 Days of Deals in Video Games, and for one day only (December 9, 2010) a bunch of PS3 Greatest Hits games have been reduced. Well, a better term would be general hits, since some of the reduced games aren’t part of the Greatest Hits line. I doubt anyone is going to complain about that, since everyone appreciates a good sale game.

Some good stuff is going to be headed straight for racers on October 26, 2010. The PS3 version will be getting free DLC and double the XP. While the XP will be doubled only until November 1, 2010, the DLC will be free until November 8, 2010. So make sure you have your PS3 updated and internet connection ready…

Today (October 5, 2010) ModNation Racers is getting a brand new addition courtesy of Progressive Insurance. Progressive’s commercial spokesperson Flo, is getting her own ModNation avatar and her trademark Progressive Insurance attire will be given to everyone for free.

ModNation Racers owners will be happy to know that the promised and foretold 1.02 patch is going to be released August 4, 2010. The most discussed feature added with the update is the Casual difficulty setting, but the patch does much more than add that into the game. It also gives ModNation Racers a tune-up so runs better…

Modnation Racers is going to get a little bit easier. The PlayStation Blog Modnation update this week did the usual – showed off some custom creations. It also revealed what’s going on with the patch United Front Games is preparing for the PS3 version of ModNation Racers. A new difficulty level is being added in for beginners.

The casual difficulty level is the first of many improvements that will be added to Modnation Racers with the new patch…

Three new racing games got lapped by their competition on the May retail track, according to the latest NPD numbers. Sony’s ModNation Racers, Disney Interactive’s Split Second and Activision’s Blur all met with cool receptions, ModNation not making Top 15 while the other two racers didn’t even crack the Top 30.

This week’s downloadable PlayStation 3 game is Joe Danger for $14.99. In this game players take on the role of Joe Danger, a stuntman who lives to entertain the audience with various stunts, as he competes with his rival “Team Nasty.” The allows players to create new levels to race on and edit as you play by freezing the game and making adjustments such as adding a ramp or obstacles, then unfreeze to continue the race.

The LittleBigPlanet Pod Penthouse for $4.99 features a giant PS3 controller that allows you to change what’s outside the window by rotating the background, two floors, a wallpaper game that lets you create wallpapers for your PS3 system and two open spaces downstairs to personalize. The new LittleBigPlanet Playground is a huge three level filled with familiar characters including King, Sackboy, Uncle Jalapeno, Ghosts, Meerkats and more. The ModNation Racer Clubhouse features a mini-theater where players can watch exclusive interviews or videos about their favorite game, hangout in the cafeteria style lounge area, play the sticker wall game or go upstairs to play Skee Racer.
