Review: Apple’s iPad 2
The iPad 2 release will probably go down in history as one of the worst choreographed launches a product has seen. It’ll also go down in history as one of the best launches ever seen. As of typing this, Apple is still showing a 4-5 week delay for online orders and still hasn’t launched internationally yet. Retailers have sold out their stock (some of it to scalpers looking to make an overpriced buck) with no indication when more is arriving. Its a loud echo of Nintendo’s Wii launch, parents clamoring to stores desperate to get the modern day Tickle Me Elmo. Only that was Christmas, this is March Madness. There’s no denying the iPad 2 demand is higher then when it’s first generation untested brother was unleashed and eventually awed the world.
When Steve jobs and company finally revealed the iPad 2, many people including myself were underwhelmed..
Become Monopoly Millionaires on Facebook
EA has a brand new way for people to waste time on Facebook. Well, technically it isn’t a totally new way, given that Monopoly Millionaires is a browser-based, free-to-play version of the classic Monopoly game. Still, it’s another way to get people on their computers and investing time and effort into a frivolous past-time, rather than doing real work. Yay for mindless distractions…

DungeonQuest gets a world transplant
Way back in 1985 a curious dungeon crawl board game hit store shelves called DungeonQuest.
Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) just released a new version of DungeonQuest on August 25, 2010, to the delight of fans eager to take another go at the dragon’s hoard. FFG has altered the game, translating it over to their Runebound universe, but I don’t see the game changing much. The original DungeonQuest used a generic fantasy setting than can only be improved by adding the heroes and items common to Runebound, RuneWars, and Descent, the latter being the ultimate in current dungeon crawl games. Better components mean a higher price, but $60 is actually a bit low by today’s standards for big games.
Celebrate Monopoly’s 75th anniversary with Monopoly Streets
The classic board game Monopoly is celebrating it’s 75th anniversary in 2010, and EA will team up with Hasbro to take advantage of that by releasing Monopoly Streets. It’ll give PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 owners a whole new way to look at the classic property acquisition and management game – a 3D look.
Monopoly Streets places players on the streets of the Monopoly world. Wii Miis or Xbox 360 avatars populate the “city” and players experience the game firsthand in a 3D world. Each character also will get his or her own headquarters that will expand, or shrink, as they proceed though the game…
Families really love EA Hasbro games
When you think of games genres or brands that tend to do incredibly well have have major sales, you probably think of series like Mario or Halo. It turns out that the EA Hasbro games aren’t anything to laugh at, because EA just announced that the recently released Littlest Pet Shop DS, PC and Wii games, Nerf N-Strike Wii game, Hasbro Family Game Night PS2 and Wii games and Monopoly PS2, PS3 and Wii games, all together, have sold 2 million copies worldwide since they were released in Fall 2008. Not too bad.
The most successful games from the EA Hasbro collaboration were the Littlest Pet Shop games. The three Littlest Pet Shop DS games were the biggest hits, but the Nerf N-Strike game was also fairly popular. The Hasbro Family Game Night game collection also received a bit of attention, due to the fact that it received a Toy Wishes 2008 All-Star Award…
