If you were still hoping that Monster Rancer DS would be released this month, even though there’s been little to no news about it, you should probably sit down. Tecmo Koei isn’t handling it anymore. UFO Interactive has taken the reigns for both Monster Rancher DS and Monster Racers.

Both games are still coming out, but the timeline is different. Monster Racers is going to be released in Summer 2010, and Monster Rancher DS‘s release date is now unknown. Originally, Monster Rancher DS was supposed to be out March 30, 2010, with Monster Racers following a few months later.

Koei’s just announced what games it’ll be bringing to the party that is E3 2009. The funny thing is, only one of the games is a Koei staple you’d expect to see. I don’t know about others, but I expected Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and Gundam, not Zill O’ll, Warriors: Legends of Troy and Monster Racers.

E3 2009 is going to be a hallmark for Koei. For the first time, the company is going to debut new games in North America. Typically, all new Koei games first appear in Japan. It’s a real honor, and another thing that will make E3 2009 special.

Yep, it’s about that time of the year when Koei unleashes yet another iteration of its hack and slash series, Dynasty Warriors, upon us and this year we must have been extra good because we aren’t getting just one game, but two: Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce for the PlayStation Portable and Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are both slated for a 2009 release.
