Mortal Kombat

Earlier this week, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced Mortal Kombat will be coming to the PlayStation Vita in the spring of 2012. We didn’t have many details to share at that time, but the Creative Director of Netherrealm Studios Ed Boon had more to say in an interview with the European PlayStation Blog.

Xbox Live Update for the week of August 28 through September 3, 2011

There are a whopping four new titles in the Xbox Live Arcade this week. It’s a varied mix including everything from tower defense to old school 2D fighting. Rock of Ages tasks you with taking down an opposing tower with a gigantic rock. You have numerous obstacles to navigate and those little detours can damage your boulder. The bigger your rock is and more speed it has built up, the more damage it will do when it finally gets to the tower. Meanwhile, your enemy is trying to destroy your tower. You’ll need to throw obstacles in front of their rock to stop them from flattening you. It’s 800 Microsoft Points ($10) to rock out with this game.

GameStop’s August 24 – 30, 2011 ad has uDraw Tablet and Xbox 360 deals

Well, it’s sale ad time again! At least, for GameStop it is since the store defies convention by releasing its weekly ads on Wednesdays. The ad for August 24-30, 2011 has been released and it mainly focuses on Xbox 360 promotions that include gift cards and a uDraw Tablet deal. Yes, there are a few games reduced as well, but there are so few reduced that it’s barely even worth mentioning.

First, the Xbox 360 deals since there are two of them…

Freddy Kruger is in Mortal Kombat

It’s probably best for us gamers to stop being so shocked when the seemingly unthinkable happens. We never would have imagined participating in a match between Superman and Scorpion, but that has happened. Is it so hard to believe that the man who haunted the dreams of kids for years could come to Mortal Kombat too? Yes it is still a weird thing to acknowledge, but Freddy Kruger is coming to Mortal Kombat as a paid DLC character.

Toys R Us’ July 10-16 ad has game bundle and budget game deals

Toys R Us’ ad for July 10-16, 2011 has a little in common with the Best Buy ad for next week. There’s a similar, general game deal and console deal. So where you shop next week basically depends on what kind of games you want or if you want to grab some music game bundles…

E3 2011: Mortal Kombat players achieve new Guiness World Record during expo

You’ll have to forgive four tired gamers from the CraveOnline team if the phrase “Finish Him!” inspires fits of convulsions and audible weeping. They broke the Guinness World Record for fighting games with a 32-hour Mortal Kombat marathon.

Cristopher Bryant, Paul Chillino, Melissa Estuesta and Lance Moose took on the carpal tunnel-inducing task during E3 2011. Observers were able to cheer them on and even play alongside them for as long as they could stand to do so.

Toys R Us’ June 5 – 11, 2011 ad has DS, PS3 and Xbox 360 deals

Toys R Us’ latest ad is out and it has some old favorite promotions with a few new deals. So you’ll probably see at least one console, handheld or game you might be tempted to run out and buy. At least, if you’re interested in the DS, PS3 or Xbox 360 you will.

First, the hardware deals. The DS Lite price is now $99.99, since Nintendo’s trying to clear them out. Toys R Us is going a step further this week and selling any DS Lites it has in stock for $89.99…

Weekend Sale: Mortal Kombat for $40

Memorial Day is almost here and that usually means there are going to be various sales in the days leading up to it. Mortal Kombat is the first of what we are hoping to be many gaming deals that will take place between now and Monday. You can pick it up from Amazon right now for the low price of $39.99.
