MumboJumbo wins $4.6 million judgment against PopCap Games
MumboJumbo LLC recently (January 25, 2010) announced that a Dallas jury has awarded it $4.6 million in damages from former business partner Popcap Games.
The case stems from a 2006 agreement in which MumboJumbo was to produce, distribute and sell certain PopCap games in North America. MumboJumbo alleged that PopCap breached the contract by selling the games on its own. A jury in the 193rd Civil District Court in Dallas County agreed.

MumboJumbo and phenomedia bringing Moorhuhn/Crazy Chicken games to the US
Due to its popularity, the DS often becomes a haven for games designed to appeal to a wide audience. An audience that includes established gamers, as well as those who only occasionally play or have never owned a handheld system before. MumboJumbo and phenomedia have decided that it is the perfect platform to release somewhat casual action, racing and puzzle Crazy Chicken games on. So, the Moorhuhn Atlantis Quest, The Pharoah’s Treasure and Star Karts DS games will be released as Crazy Chicken games in the US.
All three games are fairly standard and typical entries in each genre. Star Karts is a racing game, where you are a chicken racer going through outer space themed areas in a customizable vehicle. The Pharoah’s Treasure is a puzzle game with some mini-games tossed in. Atlantis Quest appears to be a standard, side-scrolling action game where you have to get from point A to point B…
Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena blossoms
MumboJumbo has decided to take a bunch of casual game concepts and jam them all into one game with the newly announced Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena. The title, which will be available in stores in December 2008, incorporates elements of hidden object, puzzle and adventure games. It also is the first game of the just announced Samantha Swift series.
Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena stars Samantha, as she searches through six different areas to find the shield of Athena and Athena’s missing Roses for The Secrets Lost Museum. At the same time, treasure hunter Ravena Stryker is waiting in the wings to snatch any valuable items Sam might find. So you have to help Sam find all six of Athena’s Roses, and other assorted objects, so she can add them to the museum and keep a treasure hunter from selling them. There are 50 levels and 700 hidden objects in the full version of the game, as well as Hidden Object and Puzzle-Solving Adventure modes…
Find hidden accessories in Fashion Apprentice
A new fashion-based game has been launched by MumboJumbo to coincide with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Fashion Apprentice is a new hidden-objects game (much like those Highlights puzzles or Mystery Case File games) geared towards casual, female gamers. It was just released today (September 5, 2008), and is available through online game portals in trial and full versions.
Fashion Apprentice stars young Anna, who has decided she does not want to be a lawyer (like her father hoped), and abandons law school to work in her aunt’s boutique. Classy. In order to progress through the game and make Anna a famous designer, players have to find lists of items in 28 different levels. The game also contains music and dress-up mini-games, and the ability to use Glam points earned from finding objects to buy Anna new outfits or power-ups…
