Man gets two life sentences for Xbox 360-related murder

Derek Lee Hernandez was sentenced to two life sentence earlier this month for murdering a mentally disabled man while robbing him of his Xbox 360. Hernandez was the second man convicted of first-degree murder in the slaying of Jason Holley.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports on the game-related slaying. Holley suffered from Klinefelter’s syndrome, which left him with the mental development of an 11-year-old child.

E3 2009: House M.D. and Murder, She Wrote are getting virtual counterparts

Legacy Interactive recently created some casual games based on classic teen movies Clueless, Pretty in Pink and Mean Girls. Now, the company has announced at E3 2009 that it is teaming up with Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group to create games based on TV series. Get ready for House M.D. for the PC and DS and Murder, She Wrote for the PC. Release dates aren’t available for either game.

The goal of the game is to do what the team does in the show, diagnose patients who have unknown and mysterious diseases. On the other hand, Murder, She Wrote sounds like a leisurely, casual romp…

According to the article, police say Ayala begin a shooting rampage outside an underage club in downtown Portland before turning the gun on himself. He died later from his wounds.

The Oregonian (and numerous other mainstream media outlets) have reported Ayala enjoyed shooting games including Left 4 Dead and Resistance: Fall of Man. In an eerie suicide note, Ayala left his personal possessions including his beloved PlayStation 3 to his roommate.

It will be difficult for police or anyone else to reconcile the kind tone of the suicide note with the actions Ayala is believed to have committed…

In an appalling incident in Brockton Massachusetts, (USA) on Tuesday (March 25, 2008), 15-year-old Olivier Baptiste was shot dead by his 18-year-old neighbor, William Suarez, when he refused to hand over a video game.
