Get a free copy of MySims with your taco
When I was younger, toys that came in kids meals were simple. Boys would get a tough action figure and girls would get a princess or pony. The most outrageous thing I ever received at a fast food restaurant was a VHS copy of Back to the Future. Now kids get full PC games. To be more specific, Taco Bell is giving away copies of MySims on PC in kids meals.
MySims take to the skies as SkyHeroes
MySims games must do quite well, because EA has just announced another one. MySims SkyHeroes is going to be a multiplatform game, like most other MySims games, and appear in the DS, PS3 Wii and Xbox 360 in Fall, 2010. The PS3 and Xbox 360 releases are pretty unusual, as the MySims series has pretty much been a Nintendo exclusive until now. Sure, the original MySims appeared on Windows PCs and Blackberries, but for the most part they’re DS and Wii games.
Also, like many MySims entries, MySims SkyHeroes is broadening the series horizons in terms of genre. MySims SkyHeroes is first and foremost a flight simulation. You take on missions to fight against Morcubus and his drones, become a hero and save the day…
Gamertell Review: MySims Agents for Wii
When I heard about MySims Agents, I was skeptical. While both prior MySims games were straightforward simulation and adventure games, where you’d need to create building and furniture on request, MySims Agents breaks away from the simulation elements and is strictly an adventure game. MySims Agents starts out simple. You’re a local detective who’s hoping to one day become a special agent. Until then, you’re stuck performing minor tasks. The one at hand is proving a young girl named Poppy’s dog is hers, and doesn’t belong to a nefarious looking individual named Morcubus. After doing some rudimentary work to prove that Dogwood is Poppy’s pouch, beyond any reasonable doubt, you realize someone’s been watching you!
You’ve proven yourself to be a great detective, so you’re given the opportunity to be a special agent for your hometown…
2 new MySims in 2009
A bit of an unexpected announcement from EA reveals that the MySims franchise is going to expand beyond casual simulation/action games in 2009. It turns out that EA wants to branch out into multiplayer games with the series, and has announced it will do so with two new titles, MySims Party and MySims Racing.
Like the other MySims games, MySims and MySims Kingdom, both games will be available on the DS and Wii. Based on the press release descriptions, it sounds like, yet again, the Wii versions will be the best ones, and the DS ones will be slightly less extravagant. For example, MySims Party Wii will have 50 mini-games, while MySims Party DS will have 40…
