EA stops Porsche inclusion in Forza Motorsport 4
Forza Motorsport 4 will contain cars from more than 80 manufacturers but Porsche will not be one of them.
EA has the rights to the Porsche license and has allowed other companies to use it. Turn 10 was able to include Porsches in Forza Motorsport 3 with EA’s blessing. This time, EA has opted to enforce its exclusivity. EA isn’t talking about the reasons but Forza creative director Dan Greenawalt made his feelings known in an official statement.
E3 2011: Need for Speed:The Run takes you out of the car with quick time events
Need for Speed is one of the biggest franchises in racing, and EA is now splitting it into different branches. Need for Speed:The Run is the racer’s latest installment, and the plot features a cross-country race from San Francisco to New York. You’ll be battling other racers and a mysterious force that will use any means at its disposal to stop you from getting to the Big Apple. This sounds like EA’s answer to Cannonball Run. The Autolog feature from NFS:Hot Pursuit returns, and will again show you just how much faster somebody on your friends list is than you. It sounds like you’ll be racing not only against the game, but your friends to make it to New York first.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit helped keep the racing genre alive in 2010
Criterion Games may be to racing games what Rockstar Games is to the open-world sandbox genre. Several new racing/car combat games came out this year, most notably a May 2010 trio that failed to catch on. Some of the blame for those games’ problems was placed on Rockstar hit Red Dead Redemption, which also released in May.
Gamertell Review: Heavy Melody Music’s music from Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (N4SHP) for Wii has a great soundtrack coming out with some contributions by Heavy Melody Music artist’s Ari Winters, Dave Fraser and Neil Goldman.
I was able to sample six song featured in the game by Heavy Melody Music (HMM). The songs include “Auto Manic” and “Corner Attack” by Neil Goldberg, “Speed Days” and “High Ride” by Ari Winters and “Open Roads” and “Lanes Ahead” by Dave Fraser.
EA running an iOS game Fa-La-La Fun sales event
Barely awake this morning, I happened to check the App Store to see if Tomb Raider, err…Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was up yet and I happen to notice a push message on my iPad. Scrabble has dropped from $9.99 to $0.99. As it turns out, EA is having a massive sale on their iOS wares, at least a most amount of them…

The NFS construction toy sets will be available in summer 2011.
GameStop’s Cyber Monday 2010 sales
GameStop’s Cyber Monday 2010 specials have gone live. They say Cyber Monday is the online equivalent to Black Friday as far as sweet deals go. Whether that statement holds any weight depends on what you’re looking for. Walmart has deals going on all week, but its initial offerings leave much to be desired. Now it’s GameStop’s turn to win you over.
The Fast and the Curious: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit demo impressions (Xbox 360)
Criterion Games, you got your social media in my racing game. I already love you for it. After I entered the Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit demo, it told me one of my friends was playing. That entitled me to unlock a special race in the demo, as well as trying to beat his time. Social media hits such as FarmVille and Mafia Wars have shown the only thing we love more than playing games is telling our friends about it. Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit contains the Autolog, an in-game form of social media that tells us how fast our friends are driving. Once the full game is released, we’ll learn who the “most wanted” speeders are through the Autolog. We’ll also know which cops are the best at catching them.
