Nickelodeon to release new MMO called Monkey Quest in April

Nickelodeon has a new free-to-play MMO that will be marketed towards children. Monkey Quest will be freed from the confines of beta testing and available to everyone on April 2, 2011. You may not have heard about this game yet, but Nickelodeon will be putting a lot of effort into marketing the game ahead of its release. Monkey Quest will function like a traditional MMO for the most part, but it will also have restrictions in place to protect the children that play it.

SpongeBob SquigglePants coming to uDraw this April

The uDraw GameTablet has in no way been forgotten by THQ. The publisher will be releasing SpongeBob SquigglePants for uDraw for $29.99 on April 12, 2011. SpongeBob SquigglePants will also make a leap onto the 3DS sometime this spring. These two games are among the first SpongeBob games announced following THQs multi-year deal agreement to exclusively produce SpongeBob games.

THQ grabs multi-year SpongeBob license

THQ and Spongebob are a match made in a pineapple under the sea. Today the company announced it has signed a multi-year license that grants it the rights to develop and publish any game bearing the SpongeBob SquarePants name.

Everybody wants a piece of the rapidly growing social gaming pie and MTV Networks has grabbed it with both hands.

The Los Angeles Times reports that MTV Networks has purchased Social Express Inc.

Marvel, Nicktoons team to bring Iron Man and Wolverine to the small screen

Today is a day for Marvel Comic fans to stand up and cheer. Marvel and – believe or not – Nickelodeon have announced that they are brining Iron Man and X-Men to the small screen in the form of two, all new, 26 half hour animated episodes to be aired on Nickelodeon’s Nicktoons Network.

The X-Men series will be titled: Wolverine & the X-Men, as the series is looking to cash in on the most popular X-Men of them all, Wolverine, who will also be getting his own solo movie due to be released either late this year or early 2009…
