Rhythm Phantom Thief R will be Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure in the US

A week ago, Sega announced it was working on a music-adventure gamed called Rhythm Phantom Thief R for the 3DS, and was planning a Winter 2011 release for Japan. Well, it looks like Ralph has international plans as well, as he’s coming to North America and Europe too as Raphael in Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure. I guess we won’t have to worry about region-protection and importing after all! Granted, we’ll have to wait until 2012, but a few months is no big deal.

Raphael became a Parisian thief for a very specific reason – to find his father…

Square Enix confirms Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light for North America and Europe

It’s wonderful when rumors come true. Back in April, 2010, information was discovered that suggested Square Enix was going to be releasing the DS game Hikari no 4 Senshi: Final Fantasy Gaiden outside of Japan as The 4 Heroes of Light. Now, a little over a month later, Square Enix has announced that the good news is true with a press release heralding the forthcoming fall debut of Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.

While Square Enix’s press release only makes mention of a European release, it’s safe to assume that North America will also be enjoying the adventures of Brandt and friends this year. The Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light website is a big giveaway – it has links to the North American and European sites. A quick click over reveals an October 5, 2010 release date and an ESRB rating of Everyone 10+, along with three enlarged screenshots. In case you’re curious, the European site is identical, only with slight differences in terms of release date and rating. Europe only has a vague Autumn 2010 release window at the moment…
