Amazon takes 20% off bestselling games, offers 50% more trade-in credit

Amazon’s Countdown to Black Friday continues, and it turns out today’s video game section countdown isn’t as boring as it could have been. Initially, it seemed like Amazon was just going to do up to an additional 50% bonus in trade-in credit on select games. It is doing that, but it also had a video game Lightning Deal earlier today and had up to 20% off select bestselling games and accessories as its general Deal of the Day.

First, the Lightning Deal for today was the Razer Imperator Ergonomic Laser Gaming Mouse. It was available at 6:45am PST for $53.99. The normal price is $79.99. It didn’t sell out, but a few people did end up claiming it.

Now, let’s move on to the general Deal of the Day that you can still sift through. Be cautions when shopping, as some of these game and accessory deals aren’t super awesome. A few are even only a dollar off…

Gamertell Review: PDP Epic Mickey Paintbrush Chuk for Wii

Performance Designed Products’ saw Disney Epic Mickey and saw an opportunity to make a really cool Wii accessory. Mickey spends the whole game wielding a paintbrush with the power to unleash magic paint or thinner that will effect the world. So, as a product tie-in, PDP created a new nunchuk. It looks and functions exactly like a normal Nintendo nunchuk controller, only it’s shaped like a giant paintbrush. So Wii owners can have a new controller that’s not only stylish, but functional too…

Pick up your Wii controllers in white or black

Nintendo has just announced a new color of Wii remotes, motionplus and nunchuks – black. It’s good not only for people who want to show a little individuality, but also for people whose white controllers are dirt magnets! I bet families with young gamers are going to love this. They aren’t in stores yet, but on November 16, 2009 they will be.

Here’s how you’ll be able to buy them. The remote and motionplus will be packaged together and cost $49.95. The nunchuk will be available on its own for $19.99. A white remote alone currently costs $39.99 and a motionplus costs $19.99, a total of $59.98, meaning the black remote and motionplus sold together are a nice deal. If a lot of games start requiring motionplus, then people will probably turn to the black remote and motionplus instead of the copy of Wii Play that comes with a remote.

Could a black Wii be far behind…

Sony Ericsson releasing Zeemote JS1 wireless controller for 3G W760i Walkman phone

However, Sony Ericsson believes that gamers can have just as much fun playing video games on their phone as they can at home. The company has partnered with Zeemote to create the Zeemote JS1 Controller, a Nunchuk-like controller for mobile phone games.

Zeemote originally promised a controller similar to the motion-controlled Nunchuk for the Wii and, while they have not delivered on the motion sensitive aspect, the JS1 is completely wireless. It syncs via Bluetooth to a very specific phone, the 3G W760i Walkman..

Nyko cuts the nunchuk’s cord with Cord-Free

Nyko is known for its video game peripherals, and it has shown with the Cord-Free at E3 2008 that it is still thinking of gamers best interest. The Cord Free is a Nintendo Wii accessory – a small device that attaches to the base of the wiimote and nunchuk to make the nunchuk wireless. It’s normal retail price is $19.99, but if you stop by Amazon you can get it for $14.99.

The Cord-Free consists of two parts. There is a small box that attaches to the base of the wiimote, and a small box/sleeve that connects to the base of the nunchuk. Once connected, and loaded up with 2 AAA batteries, the device lets players experience cordless gaming for almost 6- hours.
