Spread the love: MMO Valentine’s Day 2009 events

Valentine’s Day is quickly coming, but perhaps your loved one isn’t nearby. If you’re in the middle of a long distance love affair, it may be a good time to check out a free-to-play MMO, and take part in one of the special Valentine’s Day events to show your special someone just how much you care about him or her.

After all, nothing says devotion like staying at home, on your computer, for a minimum of two hours, all so you can complete certain objectives together and maybe earn some kind of special token that displays your feelings.

So let’s look at what some MMOs are up to…

La Tale undergoes a massive update

If you decide to log into La Tale today, you’ll notice some substantial differences. OGPlanet has just announced a massive update to the free-to-play, sidescrolling MMORPG. There are now new places to explore, new dungeons to conquer, pets to adopt and new character customization options…

Begin your story in La Tale’s open beta

OGPlanet’s latest free-to-play MMO, La Tale has just entered into the open beta phase. Its a fairly short open beta, however, lasting only until September 3, 2008. After that, the game will temporarily be closed down until September 18, 2008, the official launch date. MapleStory fans may want to take note, as La Tale also looks to be a customizable, adorable, MMORPG with a 2D perspective and active battles.

La Tale is designed to be an active MMORPG with easy controls, customizeable characters and quests that are easy to accomplish. You design an avatar that is a warrior, knight, wizard or explorer who is trying to uncover Stones of Iris and learn Iris Livier’s while journeying across different lands and fighting monsters. I have to say, it looks adorable…

Register now for the OGPlanet Olympics

OGPlanet.com is going to be fashionably late with it’s free-to-play MMO’s Olympic celebrations. Rather than running its games’ Olympic events at the same time as the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, it is going to be holding events in Albatross18, Cabal Online and Rumble Fighter from September 4 to 14, 2008. Registration for the Olympic events opened August 19, 2008.

If you want to compete, you’ll have to sign up in the OGPlanet forums. You must join teams with players from the three MMOs to enter. Only 48 teams will be able to compete. The winners will receive prizes (like in-game currency and an item for La Tale) and honor.
