Pandemic Studios ex-employees recreate scene from Office Space (with video)
A few days ago we commented on the unfortunate situation involving Electronic Arts Inc. and Pandemic Studios. Due to the current economic situation, EA was forced to close Pandemic as part of a plan aimed at restructuring the company.
In an effort to make some light of the situation a group of Pandemic’s former employees made a video recreating one of the most famous scenes in the movie Office Space.
EA closes Pandemic Studios
With the global economy going through hard times, most markets have been affected and unfortunately video games are not the exception. Sales are falling behind this year compared to 2008 and the holiday season is sure to bring a fierce price battle amongst the main retailers.
Not even the big companies are being spared from the effects of the economy. Video game giant Electronic Arts has decided to close Pandemic Studios, one of its recently acquired studios. This decision was part of a plan to cut 1,500 jobs in an effort to restructure the company.
Gamertell Review: The Lord of the Rings: Conquest for the Xbox 360
Conquest is, and wants to be, a Star Wars: Battlefront clone. Not only is Pandemic Studios the developer of this title (they were the studio responsible for the previous two Star Wars: Battlefront games), but Conquest borrows many of the same elements and characteristic of the Battlefront series. Unfortunately, if you were a fan of that series, then don’t expect the same thrills this time around with LOTR: Conquest.
The story is by far the only real thing that works for this title. Not only does it follow the film’s primary plot line, more importantly, and more enjoyable, is the “What if” scenario call, Rise of Sauron…
Lord of the Rings: Conquest coming Fall 2008
Pandemic Studios has revealed that it is currently working on The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, a spiritual successor to the Star Wars: Battlefront series which allowed gamers to relive some of the greatest battles of the franchise in a third-person action game.
Conquest will take a similar route, thrusting players into Middle Earth’s most famous battlefields, where they can pit almost all of the LOTR characters against each other. From nameless orcs and trolls to main characters including…
