Star Trek goes from the big screen to the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2012
One of the day’s first announcements came from Paramount Digital Entertainment. There isn’t a lot of information to pull from, but Paramount Digital Entertainment is making a Star Trek game for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game is expected to be released in the summer of 2012. Star Trek will have a co-op option that puts Spock and Kirk side-by-side throughout the campaign.
Review: Rango the Video Game for Xbox 360
Okay hombres, loco things are occurring down in the small western town of Dirt! The only one who can figure out the problem is our little chameleon friend, Rango. It’s a gun slinging, road runner and rail riding, green rock finding good time in the old west!
Grease the game and the DS and Wii go together like ramma lamma lamma
Yet another contestant for “Movies Games that Shouldn’t Happen” has stepped into the ring thanks to 505 Games and Paramount Digital Entertainment. The two companies have joined together to bring the world Grease the video game. A release date has yet to be announced, but the companies have confirmed that the game will be appearing on the DS and Wii. I guess the companies saw the success of High School Musical and decided the original high school musical deserved games too.
Grease the game is, unsurprisingly, a music and rhythm game. The Wii version will utilize the microphone and remote to allow players to sing and dance along with the cast of Grease in the famous musical numbers. The DS game will likely focus on the dancing aspect, since the press release mentions it will focus on touch screen controls.
No matter how much I think about this, I still can’t convince myself that it isn’t desecrating one of my childhood memories…
Gamertell Review: Pretty in Pink for PC
Pretty in Pink is the final entry in the OMG! High School series from Legacy Interactive, a series of games based on popular teen movies for girls. Like Mean Girls and Clueless, the two prior releases, Pretty in Pink is tells the story by focusing on one game from the casual genre.
Gamertell Review: Clueless for PC
The Clueless game saps out most of the poignant, endearing and clever sentiment and dialogue that was present in the original Clueless movie. It isn’t a bad game, it just doesn’t properly pay homage to the source material. I could see young children and teenagers falling in love with the Clueless game, with all of its dress-up potential. Older gamers who remembered or loved the movie may still spend an enjoyable afternoon or two with the game, but will find themselves longing for the real thing.
Besides, when you don’t really have to expend a lot of effort, or even color coordinate to win, its difficult for older gamers to sit still and play.
Clueless is best suited for younger fans of the OMG! High School series Legacy Interactive and Paramount Digital Entertainment are releasing, while Mean Girls: High School Showdown…
Gamertell Review: Mean Girls: High School Showdown for PC
We keep hearing over and over how women make up the majority of the casual gamers. So it should come as no surprise that game companies are going to use the research to their advantage to try and create games that will appeal to women.
Legacy Interactive and Paramount Digital Entertainment have decided to take this step, by teaming up to release games based on popular chick flicks. So far two casual games in this OMG! High School series, Clueless and Mean Girls: High School Showdown.
If you’ve seen the movie Mean Girls, you know where the game is going. If you haven’t, don’t worry. Mean Girls: High School Showdown will take you through everything and you won’t be left out.
Players are inserted into the role of Cady from the movie, though here you get to choose your avatar and enter in your own name. After being home schooled and living in Africa, you’re attending public high school for the first time…
