Casual Friday: Update for July 4 – 10, 2009
Another somewhat slow week in the casual game world. There were a few substantial titles released, like Amaranth Games’ anticipated PC RPG Deadly Sin. There was also the free Peggle: World of Warcraft game release, which offered a ten level version of Peggle featuring WoW layouts.
Of course, there were the staple hidden object, time management and match 3 releases of the week as well. So if your current casual obsession is starting to get old, there are a handful of new titles to sort through. Mac ports of Pocahontas: Princess of the Powhatan and FishCo were also released, so there’s even something for Mac users this week.
This week’s best bet is: Deadly Sin for PC…
Peggle and World of Warcraft collide in an unexpected manner
Love Peggle, but don’t want to actually pay for it? Congratulations, there’s a solution. To help promote the fact that the PopCap games Peggle and Bejeweled can be played in World of Warcraft, PopCap games and Blizzard Entertainment have created and released a free, 10 level Peggle game.
Peggle: World of Warcraft Edition is a 10 level, stand alone game of Peggle that can work on any PC> Each of the levels has a World of Warcraft theme to it (like “Too Soon, Executus”) and the familiar Peggle characters Bjorn and Splork have donned WoW style attire.
