CES 2011: Penguin United bringing Xbox 360, DS and 3DS accessories
Penguin United has been making a big deal about bringing its Eagle-Eye Version 2.0 Xbox 360 converter to CES 2011, but it turns out that won’t be the only video game accessory attendees will get to see. If you stop by booth #5412 in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s North Hall, you’ll be able to see the newest Eagle-Eye, a Kinect Mount, a DS Charging Pouch and an assortment of 3DS accessories…
CES 2010: Penguin United’s PS3 Eagle Eye Converter debuts
Penguin United is going to be bringing a brand new PS3 peripheral to CES 2010 this year, and its one that fans of first person shooters might be thankful for. The Eagle-Eye Converter is a device that will make a computer keyboard and mouse into PS3 controllers.
The goal of the Eagle-Eye Converter is to make life easier for FPS fans, since those kinds of games are sometimes easier, or more comfortable, to play if you can use a keyboard and mouse instead of a regular controller. It has a customized key mapping feature which allows you to coordinate your PS3 controller buttons to the mouse and keyboard. You can then control your game with ease in a way that’s most comfortable for you. You can also set Turbo Mode for the mouse and keyboard controls that correspond to the x, circle, triangle, square, R1, R2, L1 and L2 buttons, to give you an edge.
Another interesting tidbit is that the Eagle-Eye Converter can provide assistance for any game, thanks to the Turbo Function. Even if you decide to use your PS3 controller when the Eagle-Eye Converter is set up, you can still use Turbo Mode functions with your regular controller…

Called the Gaming Showcase, the CES claims this is the “largest Gaming Showcase in CES history” and will be located in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s North Hall . It will include “more than 13,000 square feet of exhibit space” and will include “gaming hardware and software – from online PC and HD gaming, plasma HDTV to surround sound and power conditioning hardware.”
The site currently lists 30 companies as part of the showcase that develop game-related hardware and software:
Gamertell Review: Penguin United’s 4x Quad Charge Station for WiiMotes
Product: 4x Quad Charge Station for WiiMotesPrice: $44.99Rating: One thumb up, one thumb sideways; 80/100; B-; * * * out of five.Pros: Charges four WiiMotes at once, removable power cable, looks pretty cool and works well.Cons: No wrist strap slots, difficult to read charge status LEDs and sometimes hard to properly seat the WiiMotes.Overall: A good option for those who like to have four charged WiiMotes at the ready. Not for finicky, power-conscious gamers.
Keeping your wireless controllers ready and charged can be a problem for some gamers. You have the odd controller sitting around that invariably loses its charge mid game and you have to either plug it in and wait (and usually watch everyone else continue with the fun) or scurry around the house like a squirrel in the Spring unearthing scattered batteries.
Accessory and peripheral maker Penguin United has attempted to solve the problem for Wii owners with the 4x Quad Charge Station. It charges four WiiMotes at once, which is nice, but the setup does have a few flaws…
