Important Importables: Ace Attorney
Capcom may be neglecting one of its blue-suited icons, Mega Man, but it’s throwing its full support behind another, Phoenix Wright. The Ace Attorney series, known as Gyakuten Saiban in Japan, is doing better than ever. With three games coming soon as well as a feature film based on the events of the first game, more »
Get Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright for $40
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney are so BFFs. That’s why Capcom is a little reluctant to break the pair up. So instead of just ripping them apart at the factory, they’re offering gamers a special Capcom Store deal. If you pay $39.99, you get both Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Sure, it’s losing out, since Phoenix Wright was originally a $29.99 game and it ends up being $10 in this bundle, but that’s the kind of company Capcom is…
Capcom releases Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney DLC
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was released as a WiiWare download all the way back at the beginning of January, 2010, so I’m sure many early buyers have long since finished and grown weary of the game. Well, you’ve got a good reason to go back to it now. Capcom has just released a 100 Nintendo Point ($1) piece of downloadable content for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. DS owners should recognize it, as it is the port of the DS exclusive fifth case.
“Episode 5: Rise from the Ashes” was an original case created specifically for the DS port of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney that made special use of the DS’ capabilities (like the touch screen). It wasn’t included in the original WiiWare release, but now Wii owners can pick it up for a pittance…
Phoenix Wright arriving on iPhones next week
If you’re an iPhone or iPod Touch owner, then next week you have to pick up Capcom’s Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. That’s right, the Game Boy Advance game is being ported once again! Odds are you’ve heard of it, since the series has received critical acclaim. If you haven’t, then all you need to know is it’s a courtroom adventure game, where you help novice lawyer Phoenix Wright defend innocent clients in five cases. You first search for evidence and the truth in the Investigation Phase, then head to court to confront the witnesses and save your client in the Court Phase.
The iPhone and iPod Touch adaptations of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney are most similar to the DS incarnation due to both versions offering touch screen controls. You perform all actions by tapping and flicking your fingers across the screen.
There’s another reason why iPhone and iPod Touch owners can’t pass up Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – the price…
Nintendo downloads for January 11, 2010
This week the Nintendo Downloads update is pretty full, with seven new WiiWare, DSiWare and Virtual Console titles available. The only thing is, the WiiWare section is really the only one worth looking at. That’s mainly due to the addition of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney to the Wii Shop Channel.
DSi owners will probably want to save their Nintendo Points for next week or the week after. This week the only games added are casual card, puzzle and sport games. The Virtual Console section is a bit barren as well, with only one game added.
Still, take a peek. Maybe there’ll be something new that could be just what you’re looking to play.
Gamertell’s Nintendo Download pick for the week is Phoenix Wright: Acte Attorney…
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney opens his Wii practice on January 11, 2010
It’s time to stand up and defend the unjustly accused! Well, almost time, anyways. Capcom has just announced that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will be debuting on the Wii Shop Channel in North America on January 11, 2010. So if you’ve never played the game before, make sure you have a spare 1,000 Nintendo Points ($10) ready to purchase it.
The Wii port of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is nearly identical to the DS game. You star as Phoenix Wright, a defense attorney who must defend people who have been accused of commiting horrible crimes. Of course, all the people you’re defending are being framed, and you have to collect and present the evidence and grill witnesses on the stand to reveal the truth. It’s filled with a cast of colorful characters and the Wii version allows you to present evidence by swinging the remote and press the statements of people appearing on the stand by wiggling it.
You may want to just pick up a 2,000 Nintendo Point card though. The Wii port of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is initially missing the last case from the original DS game…
Phoenix Wright to set up his practice on Japanese iPhones
Capcom’s kind of lost it. I mean, the company has seriously gone overboard. It’s now porting its popular Phoenix Wright series to pretty much every possible platform. First it was a GBA game, then a DS and PC game, after that came the announcement for the WiiWare port of the first three games and now it’s heading to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The game is going to be a port of the first Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Looks like they’re doing an almost direct port of the DS version, based on the screenshots. Supposedly there will be some special iPhone/iPod Touch only features, but for the most part it’s the same game all over again.
No international release has been announced, but let’s just assume that it’s on the way. After all, all the previous Ace Attorney games have received international releases…
Ace Attorney WiiWare games coming to North America, too
It was big news when everyone discovered that the Ace Attorney DS games were being adapted for the Wii in Japan. It gets even better though, it’s coming to North America as well. Capcom has just announced that it will start releasing the Phoenix Wright WiiWare games in North America in January, 2010, for 1,000 Nintendo Points / $10 each.
They will come out in three parts. First Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney‘s first four cases will apear on WiiWare in January, 2010. If you want the final case, which was a DS exclusive, you have to wait until May, 2010, to download it for 100 Wii Points / $1. The second game, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All will debut in March, 2010. The third game, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations will debut May, 2010…
Phoenix Wright moving his law practice to the Wii
Have you ever wished you could sit in front of your TV, playing your Wii and solving all sorts of court cases. Court cases that didn’t involve Harvey Birdman, that is. Well, that dream could be on its way to coming true, based on information found by GamerBytes. The German USK rating system has a listing for a Wii game called Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Which would suggest the DS game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is in the process of being ported. The listing states that it will be a multilingual release.
The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series is no stranger to the porting experience. While it seems to fit perfectly on the DS, it originally began as a Game Boy Advance game called Gyakuten Saiban. That version of the game was later ported to the DS as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney around the world and to Japanese PCs as Gyakuten Saiban PC.
While the listing is only for Germany at the moment, a worldwide release seems likely…
