New York Comic Con 2011: Cosplay photo gallery
No convention would be complete without its fair share of cosplayers and the 2011 New York Comic Con was no exception.
There were characters ranging from popular superheroes, video game characters, anime heroes, and some sci-fi characters.
There was also a lot of Adventure Time, although the photos I took of those characters didn’t turn out too well.
Here’s a collection of the best cosplay photos I was able to take in between waiting in line for panels, panels and waiting in line for video game demos.
E3 2011: LA Convention Center photo preview
E3 2011 does not officially begin for a couple days (June 7, 2011, to be exact) but Gamertell is already in town, getting ready to Live Blog the press conferences and otherwise cover the bajessus out of it.
As a taste of what’s to come, Gamertell Writer Kirk Hiner (and also Appletell’s Editor-in-Chief) has already sent some photos of the LA Convention Center all gussied up for the week, video game style.
Rumor: PSP2 prototype images leak out
Images of what is reportedly an early PSP2 development kit have been uncovered by VG247. There have been reports of developers already having PSP2 development kits for a while now. This picture is just one of the designs Sony is said to be experimenting with before choosing a definite model.
Capcom brings Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D to 3DS
Capcom made a couple game announcements for the 3DS late last night. The one we’re going to focus on right now is Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. The Mercenaries has become a staple in recent Resident Evil games. You’re thrown into an area taken from the main story and forced to stay alive as various enemies attack. We will finally be able to take this mode on the go.
Check out screenshots of 3DS games in our photo gallery
The amount of games and media coming out today following the release date announcement of the Nintendo 3DS is staggering. We’ve been working to get as many screenshots up from as many games as possible. You’re not going to see the 3D effect in these screenshots, but the much improved graphics the 3DS offers is obvious.
Sony sneaks PlayMemories into PlayStation Store update
PS3 firmware 3.50 was released late last night. It enabled 3D Blu-ray playback, additional Facebook support and added a grief report feature for spam or abuse. One thing that Sony did not mention beforehand is the addition of PlayMemories. PlayMemories is another photo viewing application with a few enhancements. It can be downloaded for free inside the PlayStation Store.
BioShock Infinite gameplay video and images released
BioShock Infinite is getting a huge amount of attention for a game that won’t be out until 2012. Today (September 21, 2010) the previously restricted gameplay video of BioShock Infinite was released on Xbox Live. Go to the video section Xbox Live Marketplace to download the video for free. It will take up almost 500MB of hard drive space. Irrational Games also provided a few new screenshots from the game straight from the video.
Gallery: Earthworm Jim HD
Earthworm Jim HD is a remake of the original game with a few added features. This time around you can play Earthworm Jim HD with three other friends cooperatively. Basically everyone has their own different colored Jim and you shoot anything that moves. Sounds fun enough to me. Earthworm Jim HD also has new levels and comes bundled with that little fuzzy feeling in every download.
Sony Home Update: The universe is expanding (again), a spy has been discovered in Xi
Click your heals three times and repeat after me… “There’s no place like HOME! There’s no place like HOME!”
More new spaces are opening up including one for Ghostbusters and Buzz!, there’s plenty of garb and goodies for you to slap on your avatar and in your virtual apartment and team leader Thom and a Veilcorps operative have been discovered by volunteers and the AFK hackers in Xi.
Gamertell Review: Nintendo’s DSi handheld game system
Nintendo has ruled the handheld market for quit a while, producing two of the best-selling systems ever. With the DSi, the GameBoy is entirely forgotten, at least in physical form, as the GBA cart slot is removed and has been replaced with a much more modern (and potentially useful) SD/SD-HC memory card slot.
Slap a couple digital cameras on it, build in a couple extra apps and add a lowercase “i’ to the end of the name and, yeah, you can make an even better game system.
