Sony warns users against hacking the PS3
Piracy has taken its toll on the PS3. Sony is currently wrapped up in litigation as it tries to bring the individuals who are responsible for breaking the PS3′s security to justice. While that’s going on, hackers have been having a merry time with their keys to the PS3 kingdom. Modern Warfare 2 is compromised and Killzone 3 is being pirated all over the web. As much as Sony tries to stop hackers through firmware updates, it never seems to last. Sony has now issued a warning to potential and current hackers on the PlayStation Blog.

Warner Bros. announces Lego Battles (which means Lego Ninjas vs. Lego Pirates)
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Hellbent Games and TT Games have announced the Summer 2009 release of the DS game Lego Battles
According to the press release, Lego Battles promises to be a strategy game (with no indication of how much real-time combat there will be) with the “trademark humor and endless customization of Lego.” It will include 90 levels, six stories and combine kits themes Space, Castle and Pirates. Gamers will be able to mix and match 55 different units from all three themes and use 30 vehicles and wirelessly (unfortunately through multicard) battle each other on land, sea and in air.
Looking at the cover there are pirates, little dudes in space outfits, knights, British soldiers and waitamoment.
Could it be?

Exclusive Interview: Larbi Belrhiti talks about Inova Interactive’s MMO, Piracy Age
Now living the swashbuckler’s life is only a click away on the web.
I recently sat down and spoke with the managing director of Inova Interactive, Larbi Belrhiti about his game Piracy Age. Piracy Age is a massive multiplayer online game where players take on the role of a pirate, manage a crew and, according to the site, “reach absolute notoriety and fear on the seas, and use the means of terror and force to achieve it.”
Piracy Age was released this month (March 2009) and joins Inova Interactive’s first MMO game Mafia Boss which yielded 1.3 million registered players and paved the way for other games since its release in 2005.
“Even though the game was a success story, we have been working hard since 2006 to make a step forward in this niche of MMO browser-based games,” Belrhiti explained…
Counterfeit DS consoles, games seized in UK raid
Piracy is one of the biggest problems the video game industry has to deal with. There’s always some hacker out there that can mod a system to play games that were not purchased legally. The latest story dealing with this problem according to MCV comes out of the UK after officials raided the home of a couple who were under investigation for selling fake Nintendo DS consoles as well as games for DS and Gameboy Advance over eBay.
The raid was carried out on…
Japanese Chrono Trigger copyright protection bested by hackers
Well, the score is now Square Enix: 0, Hackers: 2. Square Enix has attempted to put copyright protection in its DS games, first in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, and now in the Japanese version of Chrono Trigger DS. Chrono Trigger is scheduled to debut in Japan on November 20, 2008, but already the rom of the game has been leaked online.
Initially, pirates were unable to play the Chrono Trigger rom though, due to Square Enix copyright protection that would make the game glitchy or crash. Not to be deterred, some adept hackers created a code which allows the game to run normally. Two codes were created, one for M3 Real flashcarts and one for general flashcarts, to allow pirates to play undisturbed.
Its disappointing to see protection broken so quickly…
Ahoy MapleStory! Pirates on the starboard side!
Avast landlubbers! Talk Like a Pirate Day may be over for this year, but Nexon is adding an expansion to MapleStory which will make it feel like Talk Like a Pirate Day all year long. A pirate expansion, to be more specific. Now, players can choose a pirate class for their avatars and visit Demethos, a whole new Mabinogi area.
There are five special events going on to celebrate the pirate update. The first is a Demethos Double / Double event which lasts from November 12-26, 2008 and gives players double experience and item drops in Demethos during the event period. The second is a contest, running from now until December 14, 2008 – the first player in each world with a pirate at level…
