Xbox Live Update for the Week of September 5 through 11, 2010
PopCap Games’ incredibly unique take on tower defense, Plants vs. Zombies hits the marketplace this week for 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15).
While battles such as ninjas vs. pirates have captivated us for years, PopCap asked what would happen if you pit flesh-eating undead against common household plants. The result? Fun for everybody. This game has drawn thousands of accolades as a PC title and now hits XBLA with 50 levels, 20 mini-games and of course, Xbox Achievements.
Plants vs. Zombies also coming to DS
Plants vs. Zombies is steadily invading every gaming platform. Ever since its highly successful debut on PC, PopCap Games has ported PvZ to the iPhone, Xbox Live Arcade and Mac. There’s only a couple current consoles that PvZ hasn’t been announced for. Well, make that one console. PvZ will be gracing the Nintendo DS in 2011.
Plants vs. Zombies Game of the Year Edition available now

Final Fantasy steals top spot from Plants vs. Zombies
Sorry Popcap! Looks like your App Store success with Plants vs. Zombies was fleeting. And it’s all because of Final Fantasy.
Last week, Square Enix released Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II on iTunes. And, between February 25, 2010 and today, March, 1, 2010, Final Fantasy sold enough copies to take over the top spot on the Top Grossing Apps list that appears on the right when you visit the App Store.
Surprisingly, Final Fantasy II isn’t doing as well. It’s still in the top 10 Top Grossing Apps list, but it’s all the way down in the eighth spot…
Plants vs. Zombies iPhone game makes more than $1 million
Plants vs. Zombies, one of the silliest tower-defense games available, is causing quite a stir on the iTunes Store. It made it’s debut on February 15, 2010 at anyone-can-own price of $2.99, and has gone on to earn over a million dollars. That’s right, Popcap Games has made over a million dollars in a little over a week, thanks to a single 34.7mb game.
Popcap also is reporting that Plant vs. Zombies set an App Store record for sales too! Plants vs. Zombies was purchased and downloaded over 300,000 times in the first nine days after its debut, from February 15 to 23…
Gamertell Review: Plants vs. Zombies for iPhone, iPod Touch
PvZ is a tower defense game unlike any other before it. Its premise involves protecting your house (and your brains) from a zombie horde. The only thing standing between your house and the zombies are various plants that are ready to lay down their lives for you. The arsenal of plants you have are vast ranging from peashooters, watermelon launchers, cherry bombs and wall-nuts. Each plant is effective against all zombie types but bringing the right type of plants into battle will make things much easier.
