My first 24 hours with PlayStation Move
PlayStation Move was released yesterday (September 17, 2010) in retail stores around the United States. I’ve been waiting to get some uninterrupted personal time with the controller for a while now. At around 8am Friday morning I headed out to the store to pick up Move. After some digging through the back room, the sales associate brought out the Move and the Navigation Controller. Not really seeing a need for the Navigation Controller right now, I opted for just Move. After some employee comments about how Move is just a Wii ripoff, I started on my way back home.
Sony pulls the plug on Eye of Judgment servers September 30
Back in 2007 Sony introduced us to a card game called The Eye of Judgment. By using the PlayStation Eye camera, your cards would be brought to life on screen to battle opponents. Think Yu-Gi-Oh! on the PS3. The concept was admittedly very unique. I had the Eye of Judgment and even won a few battles online. Unfortunately the game never took off enough to warrant a sequel or the creation of similar card based games.
E3 2010: Sony announces Playstation Move release dates, prices, bundles
Pricing and release details for the Playstation Move motion controller and its respective bundles were announced at Sony’s E3 2010 press conference on June 15, 2010.
Here’s a quick rundown of the international and US release dates and pricing for components and bundles.
E3 2010: Kung-Fu LIVE trailer
Videogame developers are always coming up with new ways for us to break things in our living rooms. If we aren’t throwing Wii Remotes into televisions, we’re kicking our friends in the face. That’s probably not what Virtual Air Guitar Company had in mind when it developed Kung-Fu LIVE, but it’s bound to happen. This game will be at E3 2010 and we have the official trailer.
PlayStation Move: Destined for Abandonment
PlayStation Move is the latest piece of gaming hardware from Sony. It hopes Move will change the way we perceive motion controls in games. It has already announced some software that will use Move technology and it will be available to purchase in Fall 2010. Move has the potential to really shake things up in the gaming industry if Sony is willing to dedicate the time and resources that is essential to its success.
Opinion: PlayStation Move could be a hard sell for casual gamers
Let’s first examine Sony’s angle from a marketing perspective. Sony has seen how successful the Wii has become with motion controls and wants to capitalize on the Wii’s greatest strength. That strength is providing easy to play motion control based games which appeal to a broad range of consumers.Taking this fact into account, Sony developed a logic it hopes will be successful: Copy the competitor’s style with prettier games.
CES 2010 Hands On: EyePet
When the lady controlling the demonstration asked me what I wanted to do, I immediately said I wanted to give my pet a bath. After a few button presses she handed me the magic card. The magic card is actually a piece of cardboard designed to be detected by the PlayStation Eye. It allows you to access actions that help you interact with your pet.
