Retailers will stock shelves with two more PlayStation Move bundles
The holiday season is creeping up on us at an alarming rate. We’re already seeing some Black Friday ads appear online, and there are more to come. Spending this year isn’t expected to be spectacular given the state of the economy, but there will be no shortage of options no matter what you’re looking for. Take these two newly announced PlayStation Move bundles for example. Expect to see them in stores next week. One bundle comes with a Move controller, the PlayStation Eye, Sports Champions and Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest for $99.99. The other is a console bundle.
Resident Evil Chronicles HD Selection brings Move back to life
Capcom announced two remakes of a couple older Resident Evil games that made their debut on the Wii some time ago. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles make up the PS3 edition of Resident Evil Chronicles HD Selection.
LittleBigPlanet 2 PlayStation Move bundle to brighten up the holidays
Sony has put together another PlayStation bundle product that will look nice nestled next to the newest PSP Entertainment Pack under the Christmas tree. On November 15, the LittleBigPlanet 2 PlayStation Move bundle will be available for $129.99. The bundle does not include a PS3 console. It includes LittleBigPlanet 2: Special Edition, Move, the Navigation Controller and the PlayStation Eye.
Review: Sega Bass Fishing for PSN
Sega Bass Fishing was originally released for the Dreamcast in 1998. I never owned a Dreamcast, so I didn’t experience Sega Bass Fishing until recently. My knowledge of the game was slim, but I did remember a fishing controller being a big part of Sega Bass Fishing. For 2011, the fishing controller has been replaced by PlayStation Move. My time with Sega Bass Fishing wasn’t an exceptionally enjoyable one. In many ways, it’s really just a 13-year-old game that doesn’t hold up well against time. Nostalgia aside, gaming has come a long way since Sega Bass Fishing. There are better things to spend your money on than this game.
Grad students create PlayStation 3 game to help kids battle cancer
This console generation we’ve learned that games do not have to be a sedentary hobby. The Nintendo Wii is being used for everything from stroke rehab to helping athletes lose weight. Now a prototype game created by University of Utah students and faculty is helping young cancer patients keep their spirits up.
House of the Dead Overkill: Extended Cut wins Australian ratings board appeal
Australia’s Classification Board is tough on video game violence, so it wasn’t a surprise that House of the Dead Overkill: Extended Cut didn’t get rated on its first try. After an appeal to the board, Sega announced the game now has an MA15+ rating with warnings for “Strong Horror Violence, and Strong Coarse Language.” The latest game in Sega’s horror series first appeared on the Nintendo Wii, but is coming to the PS3 with Move controls added. In addition to motion control, Extended Cut adds a Hardcore Mode that rewards players for headshots. There’s also an “Extra Mutants” mode with more monsters to kill.
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded gets a PS3-exclusive bundle
Activision has come up with another reason to jump on the PlayStation Move bandwagon. The publisher has announced the PS3 will get the GoldenEye 007: Reloaded “Double O” Edition. This is essentially a Move bundle. It includes GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, PlayStation Move, PlayStation Eye, the Navigation controller and the Move Sharp Shooter. The Double O bundle will be in stores on November 1, 2011. Take that GameStop.
GameStop cuts PS Move accessory prices in half
A barrier of entry into the world of PlayStation Move has been removed by GameStop. The retailer is cutting the prices of PlayStation Move accessories and certain games by 50 percent. Instead of paying $50 for a Move controller, you’ll pay $25. You can actually get a Move and Navigation controller for less than the cost of a fully priced Move controller. This sale will end on October 2, so there’s plenty of time to jump on these deals.
GameStop’s May 13 – 17 ad has PlayStation Move discounts
Well, GameStop’s sale ad for May 13-17, 2011 is out and there are quite a few interesting promotions to keep in mind when shopping for games. It’s a great week for picking up PS3 Move games and accessories, for example. Plus, there are a number of other discounts that could appeal to both console and PC gamers.
The two Move deals made the front page of the ad, so let’s start there…
PlayStation Move Ape Escape will be a PSN download
PlayStation Move owners might want to free up some hard drive space this summer, since PlayStation Move Ape Escape has just been announced. There are apes of questionable intelligence out there, ready to cause havoc and maybe even take over the world, and only you can wield the Move and stop them. It’s a pretty big responsibility, so I hope you’re up to it. Maybe go back and play some other Ape Escape games, so you’re prepared for this PlayStation Store exclusive…
