PlayStation Network account branding will be renamed on February 8

CES SEN

In a few days, PSN account holders with PS3s from all over will have to wave goodbye to their PlayStation Network accounts. Don’t worry, Sony is only changing the name from PlayStation Network account to Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account. All of your information and passwords will remain the same. However, the PlayStation Network account more »

Vita owners to pay less for games on the PlayStation Store

uncharted golden abyss

I know those Vita memory cards are expensive, but it may be worth investing in them. Sony has just confirmed that the Vita games will be cheaper if you purchase and download them from the PlayStation Store than they will be if you were to buy them on a cartridge from a real store. Which more »

PSN will be down for most of the day

PSN logo

Sony will be taking the PlayStation Network offline today for some good old fashioned scheduled maintenance. With that being the case, it’s best if you don’t make any plans to spend time on the PlayStation Network. The maintenance will last from 8am Pacific to 9pm in the evening. That’s pretty much the whole day.

PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting goodies from two time periods

Delorean and Syphon Filter

Finally, an excuse to put a DeLorean and two Syphon Filter games in the same picture! I did this because PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting a taste of the past and present this month. Today, the first three Syphon Filter games and the full series of Back to the Future: The Game are free for more »

The final PlayStation Store update of 2011

Carnival Island

Well this is it folks. Today marks the final PlayStation Store update for 2011. Rather than going out with a bang, today’s update is rather minimal.  There’s a handful of games, a couple themes and some DLC. On the plus side, you won’t have any trouble deciding what to buy.

It seems the PSN will soon get Malicious

The big, bad boss fighting, clothes destroying Malicious is going to spread its influence overseas. Back when Alvion first created and released its downloadable PS3 game, it mentioned how interested it would be in getting the beat-’em-up to people outside of Japan. You know, people who didn’t happen to also have Japanese PlayStation Network accounts more »

How to get The Last of Us dynamic theme for free

Naughty Dog recently revealed its latest project entitled The Last of Us last week during the VGAs. We don’t know a whole lot about the game, but it has survival horror elements in a plague-ravaged United States. We’re bound to find out a lot more after the holidays, but we’ll have to settle for a dynamic theme for now.

Don’t worry, that strange PSN Wallet Balance Update email came from Sony

Heads up people, If you’re a PS3 or PSP owner with a PlayStation Network account, a suspicious email could be in your email account right now. The title is “Wallet Balance Update” and it looks quite different from the typical email from Sony. Don’t worry though, as it actually is an email from Sony, not hackers, and was just sent out by mistake.

Not every PSN member seemed to receive this Wallet Balance Update email, but if you did it’s quite distinctive…

Sony only wants one PS Vita per person

Remember when Sony said the only way to sign in to another PSN account was to use a separate memory card? Well it turns out that’s not true. A simple memory card swap will not enable the Vita to access another PSN account. You’ll need to wipe the entire Vita clean of data by performing a factory reset in order to use a second account.

BloodRayne: Betrayal gets slightly discounted until December 13

When the PlayStation Store updates later today, one of the games that will be on sale is BloodRayne: Betrayal. Until December 13, BloodRayne: Betrayal will be 20 percent off its original price of $14.99. That brings the total price to around $12.00. This deal will be available to everyone on the PlayStation Network and not just PlayStation Plus subscribers.
