DJ Max Portable 3 gets released in US and Japan in 2010
PSP owners will be able to count on a fresh new music game to occupy their time and plant catchy tunes in their head in 2010. PM Studios has announced another entry in the DJ Max series, DJ Max Portable 3. Fortunately, those living in North America won’t have to import it – PM Studios will be releasing it in both the US and Japan on UMD and on the PlayStation Store.
Gameplay in DJ Max games tends to remain regular throughout the series.
Eco Warriors episode one released, is free to play
The first episode of Eco Warriors, a free, semi-educational game, has popped up on the web thanks to PM Studios. Titled Invasion of the Necrobots, has the Eco Warriors Niko, Mary, Saben and Lucy facing off against the Ecomafia’s Necrobots. It also is supposed to help teach players about ecology and saving the Earth while you go around blasting robots.
An interesting aspect of Eco Warriors is the Hall of Fame. If you register for an account on the site, you can record your score after you beat Invasion of the Necrobots. Its an interesting way to incorporate some sort of online aspect into a game that is designed for single-player play.
There’s one quirk on the Eco Warriors site that I noticed…
DJ Max Portable makes it stateside as DJ Max Fever
One of the most heavily imported PSP series, DJ Max Portable is going to be released in the US. That’s right, on November 11, 2008, DJ Max Fever is going to be released by PM Studios. It isn’t a direct translated port of DJ Max Portable or DJ Max Portable 2, but rather a kind of fusion of the two games.
DJ Max Fever is a bit like DDR or Beatmania. There’s music in the background, and you have to push PSP buttons in time with said music. The original games had 4, 5, 6 and 8-button control schemes, so DJ Max Fever will most likely also have those options. A tracklist hasn’t been announced, but it has been confirmed that the game will have over 100 songs, multiplayer, wallpapers, music videos and a jukebox mode.
