Double Fine raises more than $586,000 in less than a day
Yesterday, Double Fine started a Kickstarter campaign for a new point-and-click adventure game. The developer had a goal of $400,000 that it was hoping to reach in a little over a month. Shortly after news started to spread about Double Fine’s fund raising, tons of donations started to flood in. Upon waking up this morning more »

Review: Hector Episode 2: Senseless Acts of Justice for Windows
What do computerized sniper rifles, blown up buildings, BBQ sauce, and meat all have in common? That’s actually what detective inspector Hector needs to find out.
He’s gotten to the top floor of the abandoned building where the shooter is (which he was trying to do in episode one, We Negotiate with Terrorists), but instead of seeing his face, he sees a computer screen and a sniper rifle, pointed right at him. It’s up to him to smarm his way out of death, and figure out who is behind this once and for all.
Mac owners can now enjoy a Cool Game for Attractive People
Mac owners can rejoice and celebrate Trogday with Strong Bad. Well, technically it’s the day after Trogday, since that was January 13, 2011. But still! All five episodes of Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People are now available and you can help Strong Bad through various challenges…
E3 2010: Hands-on Indy game Playpen by Farbs
Indycade’s booth had some very interesting Indy games to check out. I looked a game called Playpen by
It’s sort of a choose-your-own-adventure game. For example, the level I played was a version of Super Mario Brothers, as you move the cursor around and highlight different objects you find certain things you can click on. In this case you can click on a coin block or a Goomba.
Gamertell Review: Sam & Max: The Devil’s Toy Box Episode 2 – The Tomb of Sammun-Mak
What do a toy box, an ancient mummy and a bunch of mole-people have in common? Why the second episode of Sam and Max, of course.
In this episode, you don’t control Sam or Max but, instead, their great grandfathers Sammak and Maximus. The game starts with the boys finding two skeletons that look like them and a few film reels. The reels show their grandfathers going through a series of events on a train and in a pyramid, all to find the Devils toy box. You spend the rest of the game traveling back and forth between the reels to get the whole story of why Sam and Max’s grandfathers are now skeletons.
Still So Blonde
Remember So Blonde? I don’t blame you if you don’t – its been about seven months since Gamertell reported on the point-and-click PC game called So Blonde, starring shipwrecked, teenage socialite Sunny Blonde. Well, there’s a new development, actually a new game. Dtp Entertainment and Wizarbox are bringing So Blonde to the Wii and DS in Europe in 2009. A US release hasn’t been confirmed, but it could happen.
It isn’t the exact same So Blonde that we all remember. The Wii and DS versions follow an alternative, “what-if” storyline, where Sunny Blonde didn’t land on the shiny, happy side of Forgotten Island. Instead, she landed on the dark side. So some of the story will be the same, but some will be new. The game will also feature new party mini-games that weren’t in the original title…
Click Dracula to death in Dracula: Origins
I’ve fought Dracula in quite a few different game genres before, but never in point-and-click form. Frogwares’ latest adventure title, Dracula: Origin asks players to do just that. I was a bit skeptical of the whole idea, but after trying the free demo, I was pleasantly surprised at how well everything worked together.
Dracula: Origins handles the whole Dracula hunt more as a mystery than a hack-and-slash. Instead of battling hoards of the undead, you’re picking up clues and solving puzzles to find the famous vampire. It works well and is more faithful to the vision in Bram Stoker’s Dracula Plus the game looks pretty nice as well.
So Blonde seems insulting
On January 16, 2008 dtp, Wizarbox and ANACONDA, the forces behind the upcoming point-and-click game So Blonde, announced that 6 mini-games will be included in the game. Sadly, all of the mini-games are clones of familiar titles. For example “Coconut Adventure” is similar to the Game and Watch title Oil Panic and “Blonde Blonde Revolution” more »
