Nintendo and Tecmo Koei team up for Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition
Gotta catch ‘em all! And in Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition, that means using the pokemon and warlord teams to conquer every region in the game. Did that confuse you? I thought it might.
The mystery Pokémon game that Nintendo was rumored to be working on is actually a collaboration with Tecmo Koei. So Pokémon is going to be mashed up with the Nobunaga’s Ambition strategic simulation….
MinoMonsters is almost Pokemon on your iOS device [video]
We first talked about MinoMonsters last month. The concept of an iOS game that is geared towards Pokemon fans was intriguing to us at the time. The art that was shown for MinoMonsters also made this game seem like the real deal. We can all decide for ourselves whether MinoMonsters is the natural evolution of Pokemon for iOS. You can pick it up right now for $0.99.
Gamertell’s 2011 General Gamer Goodies Holiday Gift Guide
Gamers can be difficult people to shop for when the holidays come around. That’s partially because so many are about instant gratification. If a game is due out that one is interested in, odds are the gamer will already have a pre-order in at his or her favorite store. Which means that sometimes gifts that aren’t games, but are game-related, are the best bet.
Of course, there are only so many gift cards you can give. I mean, they’re quite practical and will nicely feed the recipient’s habit, but they’re hardly personal. That’s where general goodies can help. You could find a really awesome and unique gift that’s somehow related to the hobby, but could be hard to find or the kind of item someone wouldn’t normally buy for him or herself.
So, Gamertell’s here to help. I’ve scoured stores and the internet to find the best unisex gamer gifts that aren’t actually games that are under $50. That way you can make someone happy without having to worry about getting them something they already own…
MinoMonsters will scratch your Pokemon itch on iPhone
With sales of Nintendo consoles on the decline, some people believe the company should expand into the smartphone and tablet arena. Nintendo has adamantly refused to cooperate with the likes of iOS and Android, and it may turn out to be a big mistake. As of now, we won’t see the likes of Mario, Kirby or Pokemon on the iPhone. However, MinoMonsters is going to attempt to fill the need for a Pokemon experience with its first game that’s also called MinoMonsters. It will be released on December 6 in the Apple App Store for $0.99.
Nintendo attending New York Comic-Con next week with 14 games
The 2012 New York Comic-Con is coming up next week on October 13-16, 2011 and, as usual, Nintendo is going to be there. After all, if people enjoy comics and such, there’s a pretty good chance they also play video games. There’s no better way to show off some forthcoming games and perhaps guarantee a few sales. This year though, Nintendo’s going all out.
Not only will Nintendo be hosting a booth with lots of playable games and propaganda, they’ll also be in charge of a Pokemon Gaming Lounge and Professor Layton and the Eternal Dva screening…
Pokemon card game goes online
There have been dozens, if not hundreds of collectible card games (CCGs), but none have come close to Magic: The Gathering (M:TG). A long running distant second has been the Pokemon Trading Card game, which is more popular with the younger, 10 and under, crowd. M:TG has had a successful online version for years, so it was only a matter of time before Pokemon was also playable via the internet. That time has come.
North America’s getting Pokemon Rumble Blast in October
Great news for 3DS owners, as Nintendo has decided North America needs a portable version of Pokemon Rumble too! Last month, Nintendo said Japan would get Super Pokemon Scramble on July 28, 2011. Now, without even waiting to see how it does there, the company has commited to an English release called Pokemon Rumble Blast. Yay for all us 3DS owners!
Think of Pokemon Rumble Blast as a bigger and better version of that awesome WiiWare game…
Japan Import: Pokemon Card Game BW starter pack comes with a DS game
The best way to learn new things or concepts is by doing, a method Nintendo obviously approves of. I mean, how else can you explain the latest Japanese starter pack for the Pokemon BW Trading Card Game coming with a DS game? Yes, if someone decides they want to get into the game by purchasing the Pokemon Card Game BW Hajimete Set +, they’ll get everything they need to immediately start playing the TCG and a DS game they can play to teach them how to properly play the game.
