Plants vs. Zombies is doing a great job at being released for virtually every modern platform. It has proven it can be played perfectly well with a mouse and on touchscreens. Is it really a surprise that EA is bringing PvZ to the PlayStation Vita? Not really. What is slightly surprising is that PvZ will be a launch title. Although details are slim about PvZ’s Vita release, we’d imagine it’ll contain all the features we’ve seen in previous releases. Let’s hope some unique Vita-specific elements are thrown in there as well.

Now that EA owns PopCap Games, it has continued its trend of discounting iOS games. If you take a quick stroll to the Apple App Store on your iOS device, you’ll find a few PopCap games discounted to $0.99.
Plants vs. Zombies iOS gets new mini-games, micro-game and achievements
Good news for anyone who owns the iOS version of Plants vs. Zombies! The portable version is now better than the computer versions. That’s because PopCap Games has just updated the app to version 1.8, which adds lots of free goodness to the existing tower defense game.
See, the one thing the Windows and Mac version owners of Plants vs. Zombies used to be able to gloat about were the mini-games. There were a bunch of them that allowed players to do more than just play through the stndard tower defense levels where you protected your home from zombies. Do you have plans for the weekend? Well you can pretty much forget about those now. PopCap has made Bejeweled 2 + Blitz free in the Apple App Store. If for some reason, you’re unfamiliar with Bejeweled, just know it’s the match three game of all match 3 games. You think you’re just going to play for a few minutes, but you’ll witness a lot more time passing by while playing this game.

You can find the PC version of Plants vs. Zombies on just about any popular PC download service. With a game as popular as this, it’s no surprise to see it all over the place. But there’s one place we never thought we’d see PvZ or any videogame – a daily deals site.
PopCap releases 10-year-old’s dream game
PopCap just released its latest game in the Apple App Store. It’s called Allied Star Police and it was created in one week. Allied Star Police is actually a game that was conceived by a 10-year-old boy named Owain Weinert. Weinert met PopCap developers through the Make-A-Wish Foundation and told them about his idea for a game. PopCap agreed to make Weinert’s dream come true by creating Allied Star Police.
PopCap’s games will come pre-loaded on Xperia phones
PopCap’s influence cannot be stopped. An agreement has recently been made by PopCap and Sony Ericsson to bring select PopCap games to the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro smartphones in Europe. Games By PopCap will come pre-loaded on each of the devices when they launch later this summer.
PopCap Games will soon belong to Electronic Arts
This one of those stories that started as a rumor, got debunked and later turned out to be true. The mystery buyer of PopCap games has turned out to be Electronic Arts. Not all aspects of the original story were true. It was estimated that PopCap’s buyer was paying over $1 billion for the company. EA is only spending $750 million.

PopCap Games, the maker of some of the most time consuming games we’ve ever seen, may be up for sale. According to TechCrunch, multiple sources have reported PopCap’s asking price is over $1 billion. PopCap Games is responsible for hits such as Peggle, Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled and plenty more. It recently created a 4th & Battery, a studio dedicated to developing free games just for fun.
