We know how you feel. You want to own a PlayStation Vita so bad, but February 22 seems so far away. There is a way to get your hands on Vita a week prior to the proper release, but it involves dropping $349 starting today. Sony just revealed the PS Vita First Edition Bundle that can be pre-purchased from some retailers immediately. If you give in, you’ll be able to pick up the bundle on February 15, 2012.
Telltale teams with Gamestop to bring Jurassic Park fans a little gift
What’s more fun than being chased by giant hungry dinosaurs? Well probably everything but don’t worry, it’s all contained within the safety of a video game.
Telltale’s newest adventure game, Jurassic Park, is coming out November 15, 2011, for Xbox 360 and they have partnered with Gamestop to give a little gift to their fans.
If you pre-order Jurassic Park from Gamestop stores before and up to the November 15, you can get a free downloadable Jurassic Park T-Rex avatar pet for use with your Xbox Live account.
Batman: Arkham City’s Catwoman will require online pass or purchase from GameStop
Catwoman is known for being sneaky but this is ridiculous.
The Catwoman content in Batman: Arkham City will require the game to be purchased brand new or the use of a VIP pass for 800 Microsoft Points or $10. Eurogamer got a tip and confirmed with Arkham City publisher Warner Bros. Those who purchase a new copy of the game or the online pass get four story missions in which Catwoman is playable. Those players will also have access to Catwoman in the “Riddler’s Revenge” Challenge Mode. Warner Bros. noted it is possible to complete the game without playing as Catwoman.
Blockbuster is offering a month of free rentals for Batman: Arkham City pre-orders
Batman: Arkham City is days away from being released, but there is still time to get some pre-orders in. Several retailers are offering special add-ons and other incentives to get you through the door. One of those places is Blockbuster. Blockbuster is honoring all $5 pre-orders of Batman: Arkham City with a free month of movie and game rentals. Depending on how often you rent games, this could end up being of great value in the end.
Pre-orders for Battlefield 3 from Origin come with a free game
EA really, really wants gamers to use Origin. It knows if it can convince gamers to give the service a try just once, it can make long-time customers out of us. Of course, EA needed to tap into the alluring power of Battlefield 3 to lure customers in since Battlefield 3 isn’t being sold on Steam. Pre-orders are already coming with free DLC and access to the Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta, but it will also come with a free game.
