Gold farming is frowned upon by the developers of the games in which this practice is exploited. Gold farming is the practice of constantly playing an online game to accumulate in-game currency and loot. Gold farming is also a lucrative business in the real world. Some people don’t have the time to earn gold through traditional means, so they buy the gold from gold farmers with real money. In China, one former Jixi labour camp prisoner explained to The Guardian how he and others were forced to play games by the guards who were watching over them.

Zynga Poker thief sent to jail for two years

Ashley Mitchell, the man who stole Zynga Poker chips carrying a value of $12 million has been sentenced to serve two years in jail. We initially wrote about this story in the beginning of February. Mitchell admitted to stealing 400 billion poker chips in 2009. Mitchell then sold those chips for around $700 per one billion chips. Mitchell managed to sell one-third of the 400 billion of the chips before getting caught. He made approximately $87,000 on the stolen chips.

Man gets double life in prison for Xbox murder

A 19 year old Colorado teenager was sentenced to two life sentences as well as 35 additional years in prison after being convicted for murder, aggravated battery, robbery of an at-risk adult, conspiracy and being an accessory to murder of a special needs man over an Xbox.

Bill Cosby equates Grand Theft Auto with an entrance exam to prison

Bill Cosby almost had it.

In an article mentioned in Greenwood Commonwealth (by Charlie Smith), Cosby used a speech that was made by a Greenwood High School student at the United Methodist Church on Thursday (November 20, 2008) as a platform to emphatically illustrate his own concerns about the state of black culture. Throughout his speech, he expressed concern that black culture was not doing enough to uplift themselves during these challenging times.

However, while Cosby may have been making sense in that he encouraged the black community to take more responsibility for their actions, there were some parts of this speech that sadly highlighted his disconnection with the trends of today’s youth.
