Sony will be taking the PlayStation Network offline today for some good old fashioned scheduled maintenance. With that being the case, it’s best if you don’t make any plans to spend time on the PlayStation Network. The maintenance will last from 8am Pacific to 9pm in the evening. Well this is it folks. Today marks the final PlayStation Store update for 2011. Rather than going out with a bang, today’s update is rather minimal.  There’s a handful of games, a couple themes and some DLC. On the plus side, you won’t have any trouble deciding what to buy.

Rocksteady has a couple early Christmas gifts in store for all of us. As a way of thanking us for supporting (spending money) on Batman: Arkham City, Rocksteady is going to give away the Batman Inc. downloadable skin on Xbox Live, PSN and the Games for Windows Marketplace. You’ll be able to grab it on December 21, 2011. As we all know, free Arkham City skins are hard to come by if you didn’t pre-order the game. For many of us, this will be the first time we get to play as one of the other Batmans (Batmen?).
