Xperia Play’s PSOne emulator hacked, now can play PSOne ISOs

Sony is not going to be happy today. See, somebody’s just figured out a way to crack open its latest baby, the Xperia Play. The Xperia Play is a smartphone with the ability to play original PlayStation games on it, and until now people had to make do with the PSOne games Sony was releasing via the PlayStation Suite. I say until now, because an Android developer named Yifan Lu found a way to get the phone’s included emulator to recognize game files not acquired through Sony.

Xenogears becomes a PSN game tomorrow

An oft requested, PlayStation Store wish is about to be granted. Xenogears, a classic PlayStation game that PS3 and PSP owners have craved for years, is finally going to be added to the PSN. If you log onto your PSP or PS3 after around 6pm CST on February 22, 2011, you should find Xenogears waiting for you in the PSone Classics section. Hurray…

PlayStation Store Update: Catching an invincible tiger by the tail (August 30 to September 5, 2009)

This week’s PlayStation Store update features a kung-fu fighting game Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao for the PlayStation 3 for $14.99. In this game you play as Han Tao battling against an overlord either alone, cooperatively with a friend or online to conquer the overlord and protect the Star of Destiny.

This week’s PlayStation One classic is Tomb Raider 2 for $5.99 on the PlayStation 3. In this sequel to Lara must search for the Dagger of Xian which will take her to China and then venture through Europe and the rest of the world fighting power craving fanatics to find a powerful dagger that had been sealed away for centuries.
