Mad Catz doesn’t just make peripherals anymore. The company announced this evening that it has entered into an agreement with Microsoft to publish games for the Xbox 360. Mad Catz didn’t announce what games it is publishing or which external developers it will work with in this endeavor. At this time, Mad Catz has only announced one game it will publish and distribute.

Three of the developers of the Metroid Prime series (Mark Pacini, Todd Keller and Jack Mathews) have signed a publishing contract with Electronic Arts, which announced the official opening Armature Studios with the trio.

The new company’s goal, according to a press release, is to develop unique console games that may one day change how games are played.
