No Puzzle Quest 2 for PSP

If you want to play Puzzle Quest 2, you’re going to have to do so on your DS, Xbox 360 or Windows PC. It’s not coming to the PSP anymore. Infinite Interactive’s Steve Fawkner broke the sad news on Facebook today. Sorry, but there will be no additional gem-matching follow up for Sony’s handheld.

Of course, this news probably doesn’t come as too much of a surprise to anyone…

Head to iTunes to pick up Puzzle Quest 2

iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners don’t need to lament their lack of Bejeweled 3-style matching goodness this weekend. Namco Bandai has stepped up to provide another casual gaming option. Puzzle Quest 2 is now on iTunes for $9.99 and it looks just as good as the PC and Xbox 360 versions…

Xbox Live Update for the week of June 27 through July 3, 2010

Puzzle lovers are about to do a serious happy dance as the long-awaited Puzzle Quest 2 hits the marketplace June 30. The first game was a previously unheard of genre meld between gem puzzles and role-playing games. People started that game and were never seen again, so consider yourself warned. Puzzle Quest 2 will cost you 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) and countless hours of your gaming (and non-gaming) time. Again, do not say Gamertell didn’t warn you beforehand.

Aurora Feint II: The Arena now in the App Store

iPhone and iPod Touch gamers got quite the surprise when Aurora Feint: The Beginning was actually good. Even better, the Puzzle Quest-like game was available to all iPhone owners free of charge, quite pleasing compared to the $14.99 price tag for some games.

Yesterday, the sequel to Aurora Feint, Aurora Feint: The Arena hit the App Store but unlike, it’s predecessor, it packs a price tag of $9.99. Fortunately, it’s on sale through Christmas for $7.99. It’s not quite the free price tag a lot of us were hoping but still…

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords coming to iPhone, iPod Touch

Just when you thought a game was everywhere, you learn that it still has one more front to conquer. I’m speaking, of course, of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Previously, the puzzle/role playing game invaded cell phones, every major video game console (PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360), every handheld system (DS and PSP) and computers (Mac and PC). Now, TransGaming Inc. has announced that it is adapting Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

An actual launch date hasn’t been announced, but TransGaming is working with D3Publisher and hoping to have Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords up in the iTunes App Store before the end of Fall 2008. A price also hasn’t been set, and no rating has been assigned. Previous versions of the game were rated Everyone 10+, so the iPhone/iPod Touch version will probably carry a similar rating…

Puzzle Hero looks kind of impressive (for a Puzzle Quest rip-off)

I suppose it was bound to happen. Puzzle Quest‘s success was not going to go unnoticed, and the copycats are coming out. At least Genimo Interactive LLC’s Puzzle Hero doesn’t look like it was just slapped together.

In Puzzle Hero, you play a hero whose little brother Tristan’s been kidnapped by a Zalock and his henchmen. Players go through match-ups on the map (like in Bust a Move or Puyo Pop‘s story modes) until they reach Zalock. Each match features the grid of icons on the bottom, and the hero and stage’s villain on the top. You then must match up similar icons in groups of three to deal damage. Sound familiar? You can also purchase equipment for your character between fights.

Puzzle Quest coming to Xbox Live

It was recently announced that Puzzle Quest, the popular RPG-puzzle game hybrid, is to receive an expansion through Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA). The game, temporarily titled “Puzzle Quest 1.5,” features new four professions that include Bard, Rogue, Ranger and Warlock, as well as a plethora of additional spells, skills and items. The expansion will also introduce a new villain, Antharg, Lord of the Plague.

In an outreach to fans, Puzzle Quest developer Infinite Interactive and publisher D3 Publisher scanned dozens of fan-submitted titles to find the winning entry that would…

Puzzle Quest coming to more systems

D3 Publisher of America recently announced more release platforms for its wildly popular puzzle/RPG hybrid, Puzzle Quest. Gamers can expect the Wii, PS2 and PC versions to arrive Fall 2007, with a mobile incarnation coming in early 2008. An Xbox Live arcade version (already announced) is also arriving soon. Since its March 2007 release, the more »

Puzzle Quest coming to Xbox Live

D3’s immensely popular and addicting puzzle/RPG hybrid Puzzle Quest will be available later this summer on XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade), with expanded features that take advantage of the live arcade atmosphere.

Besides the full online play there will be a complete with a matchmaking service, ranked multiplayer games and voice chat. Additionally, the game has been tweaked and new features have been added to the single player mode, including…
