Resistance 3 was released today in the United States. Reviews have been quite good so far and it appears as if R3 is the best game in the franchise. Naturally, Insomniac Games will release downloadable content for R3 over time to keep interest up. The first DLC pack entitled Survival was announced today.

Kmart’s getting a reputation for offering gaming coupons on some of the hottest games. They’re like gift cards, only they print out after your receipt when you make a purchase and you can use them on a future game purchase. During the September 4-10, 2011 sale period, there’s going to be a whopping five gaming coupons on major releases. There’s also going to be one general sale too.

Resistance 3 will be released on September 6, 2011. That’s one week from today. Insomniac is also still encouraging players to get in on the Resistance 3 multiplayer beta before it goes away in favor of the full experience. The beta will be open to every PlayStation Network user today. If you jump in a play some matches, Insomniac will throw a couple free goodies your way.

So, you want a PlayStation 3D Display when it comes out on December 31, 2011 and you want Resistance 3 to come with it, but for some reason you don’t want to get it through Amazon or GameStop. Well, there’s now another option. Walmart is going to carry the bundle too, at a price of $499.96, and there’s a way to get Resistance 3 with it there too…

Yesterday, Insomniac Games released a patch for the Resistance 3 multiplayer beta. The patch brought back public matchmaking which had been disabled for several days. We promised a gameplay video to compliment the last video which focused on the menus, perks and loadouts. We have that video for you today, but it showcases many glitches.

Great news people! You can still get a copy of Resistance 3 for your PS3 when you buy that new PlayStation 3D Display from select retailers. I know you were all a little heartbroken when Sony announced it would be bundling MotorStorm: Apocalypse (PS3) with the 3D monitor bundle when it is released on December 31, 2011, instead of Resistance 3 as the company promised during its E3 2011 press conference. So now you can dry those tears, if there were any!

The Resistance 3 multiplayer beta has been broken for several days. During that time, players could only engage in private matches. This led to a lot of people setting up private matches through Facebook and Twitter. Today, Insomniac released update patch 2.01 that has brought public matchmaking back online.

During its E3 2011 press conference, Sony revealed the contents of a 3D monitor bundle. The 3D monitor is Sony’s way of bringing more 3D content into smaller residences such as dorm rooms and apartments without the need for an expensive 3D television. This $500 bundle was originally going to ship with a copy of Resistance 3, but that’s not the case anymore.

The Resistance 3 multiplayer beta is in full effect. If you have a code, feel free to redeem it on the PlayStation Network right now. If you don’t have a code, keep up with Insomniac Games on Facebook or Twitter. Insomniac has a tendency to give away dozens of codes at once. I’ve been playing the beta for couple days and like what I see so far. Full impressions are coming, but let’s go on a video tour of the beta for now.

Resistance 3 has gone gold. That means the game is done and is headed to manufacturing where countless discs will be pressed and packaged for nationwide distribution. There will be a patch waiting for you when the game is released on September 6, but it is complete for the most part.
