E3 2011: Free virtual items from PlayStation Home

The show floor opened up to E3 2011 attendees today. Among the horde of anxious and sweaty people are tons of unreleased games. It’s really hard to wrap your head around the number of playable titles there are during an E3 event. While everyone scrambles about in the convention center, Sony created a virtual version of its E3 floor space in PlayStation Home for everyone else. That space has also opened up to everyone and it contains some goodies for those who spend a little time there.

Xbox Live Labs hopes to improve the online experience

Microsoft needs your help. The company is trying to improve the Xbox Live experience, but it needs data from its loyal customers to make that happen. That’s why it has started a program called Xbox Live Labs. This program is open to any Xbox Live member in the United States. It will basically test your network connection from the Xbox 360 to Xbox Live. You don’t have to participate, but you’ll get some neat rewards if you do.

Microsoft launches Xbox Live Rewards program

Starting today, you can begin to earn rewards for just doing what your normally do on Xbox Live. Microsoft will soon launch its Xbox Live Rewards program which will be available for US and UK regions. All you have to do is sign up, and start racking up the points.

Club Nintendo updates rewards, adds Ultra Hand WiiWare title, Games & Watch 2 for DS

Nintendo recently updated its Club Nintendo rewards, adding a DS game, A WiiWare game and (yawn) another poster set.

Club Nintendo is Nintendo’s way of rewarding loyabl customers who also compelte surveys about their gaming experience. By inputting game and console registration codes, you earn Club Nintendo Coins that can be redeemed for Club-exclusive, Nintendo-themed products.

How To: Get your three free games via PSPgo Rewards

As of this writing Sony still hasn’t offered a practical solution to everybody’s growing UMD problem. With the launch of the PSPgo only days away, we still don’t know how or if we will be able to enjoy our UMD based games if we choose to purchase a PSPgo. Well lets take our minds off that issue for a second and talk about a new promotion Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe is having called PSPgo Rewards.

PSPgo Rewards is Sony’s way of easing us into the digital download only process the PSPgo will offer. It’s offering three free downloadable games from a list of 17 available titles that includes Wipeout Pure, echochrome, Killzone: Liberation and Patapon .

Club Nintendo announces its Elite status freebies

Club Nintendo sent out an email today (July 14, 2009) announcing the free reward for Elite Status members.

The rewards are based on status with Platinum members being able to choose from two rewards and Gold status members having only one choice…

Sony Home Update: Hamsters vs Humans, new spaces, apartments available

There’s nothing wrong with being cute and furry in PlayStation Home but after a strange message appeared on the virtual PSP menu June 18, 2009, informing users of a strange virus breaking out, turning everyone into strange creatures.

There are also more personal spaces available including a Club House and Ghostbusters Firehouse space with free items, a Hamster Dance Marathon, new games, updates to EA’s Sports Complex and we visit the end of Xi: The Hub.

Rep reveals more info about Club Nintendo for North America

North American Nintendo fans got a real treat last month when Nintendo announced that they would finally be bringing over what the rest of the world already got to enjoy, Club Nintendo.

The Club allows customers to gain rewards for purchasing Nintendo products. In return for spending real world cash, club members will gain points or stars to redeem for actual items or even Wii and (soon) DS points.

Unfortunately, the initial announcement left us a little dry on the details, so during an interview with Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo’s executive VP of sales and marketing, MTV Multiplayer decided to dig a little further into the upcoming program’s details. Here’s what they uncovered…

Rumor: Sony may soon offer more rewards than just pixelated Trophies

Unlocking a Trophy while playing a game on the PS3 is wholly satisfying. Its seems one second you’re racking up the head shots and the next second that little sparkling sound effect comes through the speakers.

Before today (October 20, 2008) gaining Trophies was just a testament of dedication in doing a specific task in a game. In the future gaining a Trophy could mean a special treat is coming to you from Sony.

According to CVG, the issue of the US Official PlayStation Magazine reports that Sony Computer Entertainment of America is “mulling over some sort of Trophy reward system…”
