Samsung showed the gaming community a little love at CES 2012 with its Series 7 gaming notebook. It has a quad-core i7 processor, a full HD LED display, a bunch or storage and a gaming mode that disables things such as the trackpad and Windows key. If you’re a PC gamer, you may want to more »

Target has multiple, last minute game and electronics sales December 18-24

We’re getting into the home stretch. Christmas is only a little over a week away. While most people are already prepared, stores are hoping there are some people who have still put off their shopping until that last minute. That’s when they’re hoping to swoop in with sale ads with better than usual deals. Target’s done just that, and has released it’s December 18-24, 2011 sale ad early online…

Samsung shows off 55-inch glasses-free 3D TV

Last week, Samsung spoke a little about glasses-free 3D television technology. The company said it would take five years to make the kind of 3D TV it would consider selling, followed by another five years to bring the TV to market. Samsung has a glasses-free 3D TV up and running, but it’s only a prototype. It showed this prototype television at FPD (Flat Panel Display) China 2011.

Samsung says glasses-free 3D TVs are still 10 years out

3D TV is something of a mixed bag. It doesn’t seem to have the collective support of the public like HDTV did when it was introduced. One reason for this is the restrictive nature of the technology. With HDTV, everyone in the room can experience superior video resolution. With 3D TV, only people wearing special glasses can witness the effects. At the same time, those people have to be positioned in the correct way for the 3D effect to really stand out. The solution to this is glasses-free 3D, which is already available in some form. Unfortunately, Samsung and LG believe mass distribution of glasses-free 3D TVs will take years to happen.

First Windows Phone 7 update off to a rocky start

Microsoft started rolling out its first Windows Phone 7 update a few days ago. This update doesn’t bring any new explosive features (like copy and paste), but it does lay down some groundwork. This is an update that will make future updates flow more easily. Ironically, this update is causing problems for some Windows Phone 7 users.

Japan isn’t taking to glasses-free 3D TVs

The adoption rate of glasses-free 3D televisions isn’t as high as manufacturers would have hoped. Toshiba, who released 20 and 12-inch glasses-free 3D TVs for personal usage last December, saw sales fall well below expectations. Toshiba didn’t sell as many televisions it intended during the first month of release. Other manufacturers are seeing a similar trend.

Kmart’s after Christmas ad forgoes gaming coupons for cheap games

Remember all those really nice gaming coupons Kmart was offering the last couple weeks? Well, it looks like the store is taking a break. The December 26, 2010 through January 1, 2011 ad is now out and there isn’t a gaming coupon in sight. There are, however, 18 sale games, one sale accessory and three reduced HDTVs.

First, let’s go through the games. A number of them are pretty darn good and desirable, and the after Christmas prices on them are quite reasonable…

Microsoft set to reveal new tablets at CES 2011

Microsoft is ready to take on the iPad. A report from the New York Times says Microsoft is going to unveil a slew of tablet devices at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Microsoft hasn’t had much luck in the tablet computing business in the past. Thanks to the success of the iPad, the public is more keen on the idea of incorporating tablets in their everyday lives. Microsoft will take the consumer’s newfound interest in tablets, and combine that with its Windows 7 operating system.
