Ohio men sued for scamming gamers through Craigslist
Two Ohio men are in hot water with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine after allegedly scamming about 30 Craiglists video game shoppers.
DeWine’s lawsuits allege complaints from 29 consumers against Nicholas Lamb and 27 against Robert White. The pair would require upfront payment for items including video games and video game consoles through wire transfer. According to DeWine, they never delivered the items.
Microsoft warns of Xbox Live phishing attempts
Microsoft has issued a bulletin on the support page of the Xbox website about possible phishing scams perpetrated through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. At this time, all of the Xbox Live services such as Xbox Live and the Xbox Live Marketplace are still active. This is just something to be aware of if you are or planning to play MW2 online.

These scammers never know when to quit. This is the second time in January (2009) we’ve reported that some person(s) have tried to obtain personal information using video games. First potential victims were told to delete any e-mail messages that invited them to participate in a mulitplayer beta for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 as that was a scam.
Now cyber criminals have moved on to Steam to phish for information by using free copies of Far Cry 2 as bait.
