Secret of Mana arrives on iOS, Square Enix celebrates with sales
Square Enix’s latest port is Secret of Mana, which is a nice change of pace from the endless stream of Final Fantasy rereleases. It’s just for iOS owners, so if you want to play it without digging out your SNES or sitting at your Wii, head to iTunes and prepare to pay $8.99. Do so, and it’s yours! You too can explore the world with Randi, Primm and Popoi, collecting elementals to revitalize the Mana Sword and keep the Empire from unsealing Mana Seeds.
Since Square Enix doesn’t go porting Secret of Mana every day, it’s decided reduce a number of its iTunes releases to mark the occasion. Well, the official press release says the sale is in honor of Secret of Mana, but I think a little holiday called Christmas probably had something to do with it too…
Auction Watch: Square SNES games at Shop Goodwill
Many people have fond memories of some classic SNES Square titles. If you’re one of them, then you may want to stop by Shop Goodwill, Goodwill’s online auction site, and check out two SNES game lots. Both lots are being sold by Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana-West, went online today (June 25, 2008) and end July 2, 2008.
Both auctions have some really special games. The first lot contains Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. The bidding for this lot started at $5, and the current bid is $23.99 (3:15 CST June 25, 2008). The second lot has a Super Mario theme, and offers up Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and Super Mario All Stars. The second lot also started at $5, but has quickly risen to $27 (3:15 CST June 25, 2008). None of the four games were tested, but they appear to be in good condition and have little plastic protectors covering the bottom of the carts.
