Nintendo gets hacked, but everything is ok
While everyone was jumping on Sony’s back during the aftermath of the PlayStation Network hack, Nintendo was recovering from an attack of its own. One of Nintendo’s servers was also broken into in April. Unlike PSN, the hackers did not take any customer details. The group taking credit for the hack is called LulzSec.
Sony answers questions proposed by Congress, mentions Anonymous by name
Last week The Subcommittee on Commerce Manufacturing and Trade sent a letter to Kazuo Hirai, chairman of the board of directors at SCEA, asking for answers related to the PSN security breach. Hirai responded to Congress’ 13 questions with a letter of his own that is dated May 3, 2011. Hirai explained how things transpired day by day, and what it is doing to prevent this kind of thing from ever happening again.
11 EA games’ servers shutting down in March, April 2010
Quite a few EA online games servers are going to be shutting down in the next few months. Surprisingly, the games that will be losing online functionality aren’t all that old. Aside from three Xbox games and a PlayStation 2 game, they’re all for current systems. The single player and local multiplayer modes will still work fine, but you won’t be able to play any of the following games online anymore, after certain dates.
The first blackout period starts March 16, 2010, and primarily focuses on seven select PC, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 games…
