Free Xbox Live for certain games for a limited time
There are some free, online multiplayer Xbox 360 games and pigs aren’t flying. What’s going on? A special Microsoft promotion involving multiplayer Xbox 360/Games for Windows titles is what’s going on. In order to promote the joys of online multiplayer, Microsoft is allowing Silver level Xbox Live online play for Lost Planet: Colonies Edition, Shadowrun and Universe at War.

Microsoft’s FASA Studio closes its doors
FASA Studio, the developers behind Shadowrun, has been shut down and most of its employees have been relocated throughout Microsoft Game Studios. The news was posted the night of September 12, 2007, in Shadowrun’s forum by Mitch Gitelman, manager of FASA studio:

Cross-Platform online play: – where PC and console gamers collide
PC and PS3 gamers are on a collision course, as another game Brothers in Arms will come pre-loaded with cross-platform online gameplay feature that will allow PC and PS3 gamers, who own a copy of the game, to compete against each other online.

The technology not only makes it possible for gamers to…

This will also complete the storyline that began in 2003 and has included time travel, interspecies mating, talking bombs and all manner of animated military hijinks. Though Rooster Teeth will occasionally release Red vs. Blue specials, the 15 minute finale will be the end the series as we know it.
Review: Shadowrun Demo exhilarating, terrifyingly complex

Fans of the original Halo will recognize John Howard as the lead designer for the project and FASA studios has been the force behind some great games — they did Crimson Skies, for example, the oft under-rated StarFox spinoff for the first Xbox console.
Gamers who were worried about suffering the symptoms of Halo 3 Beta withdrawal were glad to be able to sink their teeth into something new and all for the economical price of zero dollars. The game got a lot of good press …
