A long time ago, I posted this picture of my Shepard from Mass Effect 2. His name is Ace Shepard, he talked down Wrex, killed the Rachni Queen and rewrote the Geth heretics. He has had quite a journey and even lost a teammate along the way. When Mass Effect 3 concludes, the journey of Ace Shepard (and your Shepard) will be over.

We know, we know, no one’s female Shepard is as good as yours. I’m quite partial to my Jade Shepard myself. She’s a no-nonsense commander with a mean punch. But we have to remember that there has to be a universal female Shepard that is recognizable to everyone. It’s up to you to decide who she will be.

Mass Effect 2 was tailored to provide a sense of consequence from the actions of players. If you killed someone in Mass Effect, they would not be around for Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect continued this trend by putting us in situations to make decisions in which the outcome wasn’t clear. We’ll know the impact of our actions in Mass Effect 3. The team at BioWare is making sure it covers as many bases as it can in regards to Mass Effect 3′s story arc. There are over 1,000 different variables the team has to sift through before the game is completed.

Legendary Pictures, the film company that’s co-produced 300, Watchmen and The Dark Knight, has recently purchased the rights to create a movie based on Mass Effect.
