Gamertell Review: Shiren the Wanderer for Wii
Shiren the Wanderer Wii isn’t entirely a new game. It’s actually a remake of an old SNES game called Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 that, unfortunately, was never released overseas. for a while, it seemed like the Wii port of Shiren the Wanderer 3: Karakuri Yashiki no Nemuri Hime wasn’t going to be released overseas either, as Sega never announced it. Thankfully, Atlus did, and while it’s quite unfortunate that all of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support is gone, it’s still a good rogue-like RPG for beginners and people who finished Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon years ago.
Shiren is an experienced warrior who wanders around the world, getting caught up in all kinds of adventures, with his faithful . Most recently, his Sensei, who is also his uncle and mentor, gave him the key to the mysterious Karakuri Mansion. Shiren then makes the small town of Otsutsuki his home base and begins journeying to reach the Karakuri Mansion so he can explore it and discover if the legends about it holding an extraordinary amount of treasure are true…
Shiren the Wanderer Wii out February 2010, won’t have online features
While its great that Atlus is going to bring the Wii rogue-like RPG Shiren the Wanderer, it isn’t all good news. The Japanese version of the game was compatible with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, allowing people to download dungeon content, rescue other players, take part in versus multiplayer and trade items. Sadly, the North American release isn’t going to have all of that. It will have the downloadable dungeon included right away when you buy the game, but the other online options aren’t going to be available when the game comes out February 9, 2010.
The Wii version of Shiren the Wanderer is the third game in the series. In this adventure, Shiren gets the key to the Karakuri Mansion, and sets off to discover the truth behind a story that says a princess sleeps inside…
Atlus’ E3 2009 surprises are Shiren the Wanderer and 101-in-1 Party Megamix
Back when Atlus first announced the lineup of games it would be bringing to E3 2009, it was intentionally mysterious. The company told everyone to expect a surprised at the event. There were no hints or details, just advise to visit the company’s E3 booth if people wanted to learn more or be extremely patient.
The wait’s over and the surprise has been revealed. Atlus has been covertly working on the localization of Shiren the Wanderer and 101-in-1 Party Megamix for the Wii. The 101-in-1 news isn’t as surprising, since Atlus released the DS game 101-in-1 Explosive Megamix. Shiren the Wanderer is, since Sega handled the US release of Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer for the DS.
101-in-1 Party Megamix is, as you guessed, a mini-game collection…
